Access denied.

I dont know my session password i there neway to reset it or ne suggestions how ot work around it

Installer crashes after jailbreak

Hello everyone,

I took some time to search round the forum for the solution and tried various things, but I can't seem to solve the problem. I'd really appreciate it if you can help me.

The situation is as follows:
iPhone 1.1.1 OOTB,
performed the jailbreak using the jailbreakme.com

So now I can get into the springboard, and the installer icon has appeared, however when I tap on it so I can start installing bsd, anysim, etc, it opens a blank window and then crashes. I've tried turning the phone off and on again, however that doesn't work, and holding the 2 buttons pressed didn't help either.

I read around, and someone posted a guide that if it crashes, to download it and transfer the files using Winscp. So I tried connecting with Winscp, and tried both passwords (alpine & dottie), port was 22, the protocol was SCP, and the ip was the one I read from the iPhone.

I've figured that possibly since BSD & SSH weren't installed, that is the reason I can't connect.

So the problem is that I can't install anything with the installer on the phone, and I need a way to connect to the phone and transfer the new installer files. I've read that iBrickr doesn't really work with 1.1.1, so what is the best way to overcome this problem.

Why don't the iPhone have a CAPS LOCK button?

Hi,
I sucessfully upgraded my phone to 1.1.2 and it's running great! However, I thought the new firmware would have a CAPS LOCK button on the keyboard and to my disappointment it doesn't. You don't know how annoying it is to keep hitting the shift key if you want all caps on your text message, notes or wherever. Is it that hard to have such a feature Apple? Perhaps it will be on firmware 1.2.x?

In addition to having a CAPS LOCK button, it would be nice to have a split spacebar when you're on the .?123 keyboard. The reason for this if you want to type some numbers follow by a space and then some characters such as / $ or &, well when you hit the space bar, it takes you back to the letter keyboard. Very annoying. So having a split keyboard allowing you to stay in the number's keyboard or go back to the letter keyboard. This would also be great feature to have!

Just my 2 cents...

What other suggestions do you guys have that would make this phone even better?

OK so I am trying to install the new ringtones to my iphone but I can't use winscp to install them. I am trying the mecca approach. I tried the user name as root and the password as alpine and as dottie neither works for me. I have FR 1.1.1 and have open ssh on and wifi on. (have tried with ssh off and it is the same thing). If anyone could help that would be great. I just want some new rings.

Ive been searcing on how to downgrade or a way to jailbreak/unlock my phone so i can reinstall apptapp and so on. What is the easyiest way or can anyone explain it in "My" terms on how to do so?

I jailedfree and unlocked my 1.1.1 iPhone like a month ago using http://iphone.unlock.no/ tutorial. Everything worked like a charm. Until today, that I wanted to use some iBrickr features, but that required v1.0.2, so I downgraded and iBrickr tells me that Its jailfreed, but its not cause if getting the "world Activation Screen"... but, it looks like part of it work since i can install apps and upload files using iBrickr, I even installed anySim, and I can navigate its file system. What am I missing?

p.s. Im still gettting 04.01.13_G on the phone.

I searched the forums and couldn't find anything relating to this topic

I have a jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone, everything runs fine

I can use sendsong to send both .m4a and .mp3 files to my ringtone list, I can preview them and assign them to contacts etc.

But when anyone calls, the ring tone is marimba (despite showing and playing my custom ring tone)

any suggestions?

Yesterday I put my iphone in a dock for one of my friends stereo's, then lines started to appear on my screen and basically the matrix was happening up down left and right. so i take my iphone off quickly and restart it holding sleep+home. then i load it up again all is well, about 1hour later i get a text and then all of a sudden my battery is SO LOW and hten it goes 30% 20% 10% and then its like POWER SHUT OFF ors omthing like that

Think somthing got fried? cause now i cant even recharge it OR connect to itunes. i dont think the restore mode is working and it shouldnt be a software problem.

I read some things on other sites and it seems like putting it in some docks fries the mobo or battery, so the new question is since my phone is jailbroken can i still get it fixed?

UPDATE: So I'm sending the phone back and hopefully they will just replace the battery or w.e is fried and send it back and not care that I have jailbroken = ].

So does anybody know what will happen since my iphone was jailbroken and has about every app in the world.

The fried battery or mobo i dunno i heard two different situations.
If the warranty does become void will i have to pay the 80 for the battery or do you think 250 for a whole new phone. or will they just mail it back.

Please guys, i'm totaly freaking out here..
My phone was working perfectly, until it rebooted instantly..
the reboot took about 4 minutes..(on the apple logo screen)
Then, it entered the home-screen with all the defould icons (i've lost my summerboard theme).
Then, nothing happens, it freezes, and reboots again. And so it goes. rebooting and freezing. I can see my apps, yet I can't scroll with the SummerBoard, and my theme is gone.

The worst: iTunes does not detect my phone.

Phone info> Firmware 1.0.2

iBrickr doesn't detect the phone as well.
i can't do ANYTHING at all.. can't tapp any app, can't scroll, can't lock/unlock.

PLEASE HELP ME..

OK, follow this one, it'll get tricky. I'm asking for my sister, since she's considering buying an iPhone.

Say you sync your iPhone with a computer at home, managing your music, videos and bookmarks. Then you go to work, and you want to sync it with your office PC. With me so far?

Now, I know if you try to sync the work computer's music library to the iPhone, it'll erase all the stuff you got from your home library. But what I want to know is, if you've specifically set your work computer's iTunes preferences to NOT manage music/videos/bookmarks, will it leave all that stuff alone on the device?

I know about Swaptunes, I use it myself. But this is my sister we're talkin' about here, and she's not gonna go for the phone if it needs to be jailbroken to do what she wants it to do. And, to add more confusion into the mix, odds are her home computer will be a Mac, and work machine will be a WinXP box.

Any help appreciated.

My iphone is version .1.1.1 jailbroke not unlocked. today I added some extra sources from the roughe sourse list. There was an update in installer and i tried to install it. it downloaded then said updated failed and gave me a main script error. i pushed the home button to get out of installer and now it is continually turning on and off. It will some times show my custom background that I had on or the world pic. The little busy icon is activated in the middle of the screen and won't respond to anything. I tried turning it off and it seems like it is turning off then just pops back to the icons. I have held down the home and power buttons and it just does the same. itunes won't find it and iphone browser can't either? I have searched the forums and can't find anything.
Please help me.

I have a 20 Mbyte amr file audio recorded. Now I'm not able to transfer it from my iPhone to pc. The file size exceed Gmail maximum file size attachement, and no pc's software like iBrick copy this file to the pc. I also try to move the file in a different place... nothing :(. Then I change the file permission from only Read to Write .... nothing. I need that file :( any idea? Every other type of file is copied without any problem.

No I'm trying through iphoneExplore but after I copy the file and try to paste it on a folder on my hard disk i received an error messagge "file doesn't exist". on iphone I can playing that file without problem :( Permission on a folder and on a file are ok.

Any idea? I'm getting crazy!

i've been reading a lot over the forums, and in many thread you guys say about folders like var/system/... etc...

but i cant find that folders on my iphone, not even with my iphonebrowser when i click "go to location" and message pops up sayin "error the program cant find the path X on you iphone. have you successfully used jailbreak?"

i've been using ibrickr, and everything still works fine. however i wanted to download some apps from their list of apps that allows you to sync it straight to your iphone. When i click on an app i want, it says downloading, then 15 seconds later i get an error message saying their is an issue with the app. i deleted it and reinstalled the ibrickr program with no such luck.

help!

also, if anyone knows any other sites to actually download apps, let me know. all i've found are apps that are only usable when you log onto the internet from the iphone, like that appleapps site. i'm lookiing for apps you can download though so i can use on the go straight from my springboard. Brandnew iPhone, 1.1.1, jailbreaked and unlocked without problems.... got sync'ed with iTunes 7.5 like a breeze.....

....but..... my Outlook email account and my Favorites.... they sync, yes, but are nowhere to be found on my iPhone......

The calender, contacts, music, videos syncs okay...... it is only the emails and the favorites....

Any ideas as to what can cause this???

Windows and Mac won't detect iPhone

When I connect the iPhone to Windows, iTunes doesn't recognize that the phone is connected i.e. it doesn't show in the list of devices. I also tried this with the Mac.....same problem. Hi friends

I just unlocked my iphone for the UK and it works brilliantly. I use Windows XP and no issues with that either... There is only one problem. Every time my iphone detects a Wi-Fi it obviously browses using that network, as it should, but when I move out of range and try to use Edge again, the APN settings are gone. How can I save them? In Settings/General/Network/Edge/Advanced there is no way to save those settings. I find myself entering www.o2.mobile.co.uk, password and user every day once.

When I key in these settings Edge works perfectly and browsing and email reception is excellent, but I want to avoid the nuissance o entering the settings every day.

Framework file needed -Please

I'm having serious keyboard issue's, everytime I try to send a text or type a email or notes my keyboard doesn't show. This inturn crashes the app and puts me back to the springboard. I was reading that the keyboard file is located in the /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework well when i open my file directoy on my iphone, I have every file except the Frameworks file! Can Someone Please Please post this file so I can get the iphone keyboard back in working order or give any other advise on how to get the keyboard back? I went into System/Libary file and all I see is System/Library/.svn or Lockdown but no Frameworks file.

I really need help, I am stuck. I am unlocking my iphone 1.1.1 using the hack that does not need a computer. I got to the part where I need to install the BSD Subsystem, but a popup said that it can not find source (or something along that line). I then added http://i.unlock.no in to the source of installer.

NOW I can install BSD Subsystem, and anysim. However after anysim finishes and all is good, my iphone still can not detect the sim card.

I have tried rebooting the phone.

NOW I am stuck. HELP ME

Hi,

I had firmware 1.1 and did the jailbreak. Everything was working fine and I had problems with summer board. I tried to manually install it using ssh client . I tried changing a couple of file restrictions and thought I installed it successfully and restarted the phone. I was stuck on the silver apple logo. Then I thought I can restore the phone and went to itunes to restore it. From then on I keep on getting "The iphone "iphone" cannot be restored. An unknown error occured(1604). I tried to google for a solution and saw the manual restore one where I go to "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates". I tried to do that but still get the same error. right now on my screen I have the itunes logo with the cable symbol on it. Can you please help me out on how to fix this problem. I am running itunes 7.4.3.1 version.

I was actually able to restore the phone. I just had to restart windows and kill the itunes which pops up. then I went to "C:\Documents and settings\....." and double clicked the firmware file and it worked. It was a tense 10mins but it worked.

WinSCP "No Space Left On Device"...

All of a sudden, in WinSCP, I'm getting a "No Space Left On Device" error whenever I try to copy any file to my iPhone, in any directory. It's worked great up to this point.

Also, my Installer.app seems to be screwed as well. If I try to install something (anything), it gets almost to the end then goes black, then quits to the springboard. I reinstalled and downgraded to an earier version, and now with every install it fails and says, "Error during install script execution!"

Is there something specific that I might have installed that would have hosed these things...?

But now I have a good reason for wanting to upgrade to 1.1.1 because of International Keyboard feature.

So my question is
a) can I upgrade to 1.1.1 ?

b) After using anySIM v1.1 your phone wont get bricked when upgraded to v1.1.1!! true or false?

c) what method can I use [and what to skip (if any) since I used Anysim 1.1 to unlock] ?

There seems to be adequate guides for downgrading but not for upgrading.

Please advise.

i just upgraded 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 and everything went fine
i virginized and did the jailbreakme.com method from i.unlock.no and i managed to unlock it too and everything was going fine untill i replaced the springboard.app in ibrickr with my own so that my operator name would fit proparly and now i cant go into restore mod (i have tried every method) the iphone just loads up to the iphone sign,the cirlce 'loading' sign if you know which one im talkking about is there spinning and it keeps vibrating every couple seconds, ibrickr was recongnizing it and i changed the springboard.app back to the original which i downloaded from this site and it still isnt working
please help

I tried to unlock my iphone some times but when I use Anysim the iphone say' unlock successfull' but my sim vodafone doesn t work and the iphone says uncorrect sim..
I try carnival 0.7 method...downgrade to 1.02 and jailbreak...jailbreak and activation with pacay but all the method says the same..
There is a method to viriginize my iphone 1.1.1 in windows??what is my problem??

I bought my iphone and unlocked the original version and was using Suncom as the provider. Everything was working persfectly... i was living the unlocked IPHONE life... Until 1.1.1 came out... I tried to upgrade and bricked it. I followed all steps to repair seczone... to virginize... and still could not get the upgrade and Suncom to work on the phone... After three days i was able to get the baseband back to the original version 1.0.2, unlocked and using Suncom... i used Anysim 1.1 to unlock. There are so many guides to upgrade... My question is, Is there a clear step by step guide to help me from the point where i am right now, to upgrade to v-1.1.1 and use Suncom. Im also using Windows.

ok.... i was trying to put my 1.0.2 unlocked to the 1.1.1.
I did the virginize and i was stok in the restore with " don´t have enough space.... and the error(1) because i change the Temp location.

Ok... i was trying and onde time (the last LOL) i cliked the power b. and home to put in restaure it didin´t appear the yellow triag and it connect to the itunes to restaure... once more it fails... the i was power off the iphone to try again and the iphone don´t start... i clik the power button and nothing....

Please HELP ME... i'm tiking ( I LOST MY IPHONE :( ) OMG :mad::(:confused::eek::eek::eek:

Can anyone help me out?

I'm on Windows. Itunes 7.5 (I can downgrade if I have to). I was on the new firmware 1.1.2 and when I downgrade to 1.1.1, I get the 1015 error...

However the problem is I do not know how to get the phone out of recovery mode. I can't use independence because I'm on windows so am now at a loss...

I have a 1.0.2 and also a 1.1.1 iphone. I use WinSCP to connect to the 1.0.2 iphone and it works fine but when I try it on the 1.1.1 iphone, it says Access Denied. I typed the same username and password for both phones but seems not to work on the 1.1.1 firmware somehow. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix this? Thanks.

HAHA I found another posting with my same problem after I posted mine and found out that the password for 1.1.1 is alphine and not dottie which is only for 1.0.2. hehe.. Ok I solved my own problem! I'm awesome! : )

My iphone worked perfect only when I turn off the wep protection. When I turn on the wep, It detects the network and joint the network with the password typed. However it always says can not find server when I try to surf the internet. Could anybody give me some suggestion?

I have the iphone i did all the dialing and added the UrL... when i click on Jailbreakme.com i dont see the Install AppSnapp i only get how to run Safari in an Unactivated phone... Is there anyway to Install Installer and Activate the phone..

I have Used reviriginize 3.0.. when i was running the 1.0.2 then it asked me to upgrade to 1.1.1 no i cant get to the install AppSnapp..

I then changed it to Stringboard.plist and then I opened it up in Wordpad and it just looks like a bunch of jibberish...its not nice and clean like other people describe it with like and what not..however i can press ctrl+f and search for "slide to unlock" and i can find that..but my concern is that when i change it i will get the AWAY_LOCK or whatever everyone else is getting

I have an unlocked iphone at version 1.0.2 , the reason i am starting this thread is i want to upgrade my iphone to the latest software (1.1.1 or 1.1.2) but i don't know what method was used to unlock my iphone. so i was wondering if there is anyway of finding out what method was used to unlock my iphone.

my i iphone is in perfect running condition at the moment. using ibricker i was capable of installing the NES application. and youtube works fine.

how can i go about upgrading this iphone without causing damage to it.

i am using windows.

if anyone can help me get the information i need to virginize and upgrade i would greatly appreciate it. i do know it is not a harware unlock performed on my phone.

also i see alot of tutorials for upgrading, but what is the best one. i am at begginer - intermediate level so the easiest method would be appreciated.

I installed a battery icon using ibrickr, If I unplug my iphone from usb the battery meter disappear's, Now if i plug it back into my CPU the battery icon meter returns on the iphone..
Is there a way to restore the stock battery icon?
Now when i open Ibrickr It says that my phone is not connected when infact it is!!!!

I just updated my firmware to 1.1.1 and it works great! It is also unlocked as well. I installed most of the apps already including Summerboard of course. However, I am trying to move the icons around using Customize/rSBT and it doesn't work. Is the rSBT not working on 1.1.1? Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Does anyone know of ANY sources that add keypad artwork that doesn't totally ruin the iPod Touch? I've wasted half my Saturday just trying to undo the damage of my attempt to change the keypad artwork.

I REALLY think that that feature should not be there if its just going to destroy the iPod's functionality.

Can anyone please help me? I'm still determined to NOT restore again, I really had things the way I liked em.

I've tried countless combinations of updating and adding and pasting and SSH and sharespace. NOTHING WORKS. But I know there is a solution!

forgive me if I didnt find my solution in the search query or if I'm posting in the wrong forum or whatever else I could be doing wrong by posting here...

That being said, things were going well with my hacked iPoT 16 gig until I tried custom keypad artwork through Customize. BAD MISTAKE. I'm determined to fix it up without having to start from scratch again, since I've customized it exactly how I like it. I've tried downloading other custom keypads that I have found on this site, but the problem is that file transfer through SSH for files as big as 12 MBs doesnt seem to be possible right now. I've tried both WinSCP and CuteFTP, and both come up with Error messages when I try and transfer the keypad files over to the specified folder in the system folder. Are there some kind of parameters I need to change for this to work that I'm not aware of? I dont really care which keypad I get working, the point is to get youtube and safari and a few other apps working by fixing this issue.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions or help ya'll can offer here.

I am following the directions to Virginize my phone before I upgrade to 1.1.1. I am at this point when I need to to the restore. The directions state at follows

"iTunes will ask you if you want to restore. Hold down Option and click restore. When iTunes asks you what file you would like to restore from, navigate to your 1.0.2 folder"

However I don't know what it means to 'Hold down Option' before I click restore. I don't get a choice to navigate to the 1.0.2 folder. iTunes wants to download the iPhone1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw file.

What am I doing wrong?

hey, i'm sorry i already posted this in another section but i really need some help here. i have a 1.1.1 iphone and i need to remove some pictures off of it but i can't sync with itunes to remove them because my brother in law accidentally removed my itunes music library so if i sync to remove the pictures i lose my music. eventually i'll fix it but i don't feel like looking up all the album artwork and getting everything organized again right now. so what i'm wondering is if there is anyway to delete the picture library from within mobile finder or something to that effect, and if so how do i go about doing so?

I'm relatively new to this forums. So hi! hehe, anyways, to carry on. I got my iPhone and unlocked it and activated it. However, when I try ot add video it doesn't go. Turns out it plays a specific kind of extension file. Ok Cool to went to iTunes and right clicked a movie and gives me two options, conver to itouch or apple tv. Apple tv is not it and when i convert them to iTouch movie and add it to the iPhone, it has no sound! So needless to say, I'm absolutely out of ideas. Anyone out there can please shed some light onto this matter and show me what I don't know?
