Any idea why there is a release of customize 2.08 from Polarbearfarm and one from Thespicychicken.com 2.0b5 which one to install and the installer also then shows always a update for Customize 2.0 so matter which one you install.Installer shows a update.Should one be removed from the sources ??

I notice alot of people wanted a simple english to chinese dictionary, so this is the least I can provide.

iJiang if said in chinese, sounds alot like "love to talk". And that is the whole point of this app. Foreigners travelling in China will find it hard to converse with the locals there as they are mostly mandarin educated. This app provides the essential chinese phrases for everday speech.

It also provides pronunciation that is closely related to english words rather than the official pinyin format, making it easier for foreigners to master the pronunciation of chinese phrases.

Best of all, its free.

2. Unrar, place "iJiang.rar" into your applications folder in your iphone.
3. 775 everything inside iJiang.app
4. Respring, ready to run!

just got it off installer in recent apps. it has alot more to offer than previous versions, and installed on 1.1.4 no problem, didnt have to reboot the phone or even open it several times. first try worked like a charm. and the changes stick through reboot. awesome! finally!

but when ever i make a level pack and put it on my phone.
but then whenever i open it up on iphysics on my phone the level is just a black screen that i can draw on??

any help
and its in the mobile folder.. but besides my level. it says root??

how can i change that to mobile when its already in the var/mobile folder???

Hi all,
Yesterday I posted ShopList 0.34. There is a bunch of bug fixes. The only new feature is that now you can import and export your shopping lists to a text format to be edited or created in your favorite text editor. Now if you SSH to your phone you'll see a cool command line app called import_export that works as follows:
(Warning: Before attempting any of this backup the file /var/mobile/Library/ShopList/shoplist.data so you can restore your lists if things fail)

# su mobile
$ cd /Applications/ShopList.app/
$ ./import_export export /tmp/list.csv

then you can scp /tmp/list.csv to your desktop and edit it with your favorite text editor. Later you can import the list by doing

$./import_export import /tmp/list.csv

Notice that:
-import OVERWRITES your lists. I'll have a merge option in the near future but that is not working so well yet
-ShopList should not be running during neither during import nor export.

A file will look like:

A List
N,Item one, desc one
H,Other stuff, stuff description
N,Item two, desc two
Other List
N,More studd I need, desc
H,some more stuff I have,

Where the lines with no comas are lists and the lines with two commas are items in the list that is above them. The N means NEED the H means HAVE. It is not quite cvs compliant but I'll get there. You can download from:

At this point Safari can render the Arabic text to any Arabic website, Email, Contacts, and Calander also support Arabic text at this point

Install the Arabic Menu
Reboot
Go to Settings > General > International > Language: and choose Arabic (this will change your UI Language)
Go to Settings > General > International > Region Format and Select Arabic and the Country.

Now you have Full Arabic support in the iPhone.

PS:

There is an Arabizer in kankon's source but i didnt test it
if u set the language settings To English and the Region format to United Sates u'll still be able to Read/Write Arabic but the menu and Notifications will be in English (Just like my iPhone)

Dactyl - a dexterity game

Mobile Stacks - Reloaded

here it is, a new, reloaded version of stack.

How to install?
- until now you have to manual install the app. [i setup a repo soon]

copy all three apps into your applications dir.
change the permissions if it's necessary.

Code:

chmod +x /Applications/MobileStack.app/MobileStack*

chmod +x /Applications/StackController.app/StackController

chmod +x /Applications/BackLightSwitch.app/BackLightSwitch

wow three apps? why?
StackController to control your stacks.

MobileStack runs permanently
(only if you start it and if your springboard doesn't gets killed...)

BackLightSwitch is optional
i always have a low brightness... but sometimes it's too low, so that's backlightswitch *g*

First start:
respring and start the stackcontroller, which tries to detect your current number of dockicons. if that fails please post what's wrong.

setup your stacks settings, edit the contents and go back to the main view.(now the settings will be written to the prefs dir)
now start the demon by tap status on the top left.

stacks should be running, but you are still in your controller app, so close the stackcontroller. [WIP]

Important Infos:
inside the contents editor, you can't move an entrie to an emtpy stack. (you have to add this).
if you move an entrie and release it on a label cell (like 'left stack') you have a problem *g*

the plist files are located at: (there was a bug until beta3**)
~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.StackController.plist
and for the backlightapp
~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.MobileStackIntern.plist

Usefull Infos:
if you add an entrie to your stack, you'll find 4 apps at the end.
these apps are shortcuts to some intern functions of the stack demon:
like wifi-switch, phone-switch, airplane-switch and the brightness-switch. (which requires the backlightswitch app)

Bugs:
** beta1&2 had a small blemish,it saves and reads to com.yourcompany.StackController.plist *g*
for bugs please report your device model and firmware version.

iRemote for mac

This is the same program as iRemote for pc, except this iRemote is entirely built from xcode 3 with cocoa, optimized for macs only. This is also my first attempt to write an app for mac.

iRemote allows you to use your iPhone as a remote to control itunes on your mac, and does not require any configuration to work (no vnc, no local area network required, no BUY NOW registration). However the drawbacks currently is a slightly noticeable lag when controlling itunes.

Note that this is a beta, its not the final version.

Instructions :
1. Download the attached archive.
2. Unpack, you will see a folder and an app for mac.
3. Drag the app into applications or anywhere accessible to you.
4. In the iphone folder, you will find iRemote for iphone, ssh it to your iphone with 755 permissions.
5. Launch the iRemote app on your mac, login with wkLive.
6. Launch itunes if you haven't already done so.
7. Launch iRemote on iphone.

Hello all,

iChinese 1.0 brings Chinese Dictionaries (English, German) natively to the iPhone / iPod Touch. You can draw Chinese characters directly onto the touchscreen - with this you can look up any unknown character.

Furthermore iChinese is training (hand-)writing and reading of Chinese characters with lessons, that are derived from the famous "Practical Chinese Reader" book series. It is an ideal companion for your Chinese training course at school or university.

[Updated/Clarified]
The first four training lessons are for free, all further lessons will cost 0.99 Euro (with rebate-system 3-for-2).
To use the dictionaries, you will have to enable the dictionary functionality for only 4.99 Euro. The different dictionaries (so far Chinese-English and Chinese-German) are then downloadable for free.

[Release]iRemote v0.2 - Control Itunes on your PC with your iPhone

If you are nowhere near your computer, and all you wanted to do is use your iphone to pause the music or fast forward to the next song. This is for you. And to make things even easier, iRemote is bundled with wkLive authentication. That means you do not need any home network, any router configuration for this to work. And no, you don't need VNC.

Instructions :
1. Download the attached archive. Extract, you will see 2 files and one folder.
2. Transfer the "iRemote.app" folder into your iphone, make sure you chmodded the entire thing 755.
3. Double click iRemote.exe on your pc, make sure that msscript.ocx is on the same directory as the program.
4. Login using your wkLive account on your pc as well as on your iphone.
5. Remember to have itunes switched on to work. (thanks dallas)
6. Have fun!

(thanks to modmyifone for hosting wkLive, without them all these are not possible.)
Technical :
- iRemote does not use your local network, instead it routes your commands to the internet and back to your pc. Therefore there is a significant lag between your iphone to your pc.

No idea why I couldn't find a specific thread when I did a search for this app, I guess SMSD has kinda taken over as the de facto standard...

However I have always liked this one more, and don't ask me why.

I like it even better now theres a version which can take over as the default app without having to ssh, or play in terminal, as I believe is still necessary with SMSD.

However, it has never fully downloaded and everytime ends up giving me the "Execution Failed". Any help?

this is for the program known as "clickonce." this is not a bash against the developer or anything. in fact i like the fact that he created a soft home button which is something i've been wanting for a while. i just wanted to warn other members that they should abstain from installing the latest version of the program v .2 as it will give you the a unending spinning wheel (at least on firmware 1.1.4). you will need to do a restore of your phone if you download and install this program. hopefully the developer will see this post and upgrade it to a more stable version.
