Hi,

is it possible to downgrade a 1.1.2 iphone (OTB) with the new bootloader to a 1.1.1 version and then to use that as a phone until they find a way to unlock it on the 1.1.2 version?

i just got a new iphone in US with 1.1.2 already installed..i dongraded it to 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 , installed oktoprep then upgrade back to 1.1.2..used idemocracy to activate, then did the phone+sms fix..then Ede+wan fix..then tried anysim 1.2 but..the phone hangs showing the apple logo and then does nothing..

Hey guysI just upgraded my 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 so had to unlock my phone again. Which also means I have to to activate edge with my tmobile plan. I did this easy last time with a app that set up all the info for me with just a click. But I dont remember the name of the app. Does anybody know what im talking about? Thanks

I have a brand new iPhone, which I purchased Wednesday and activate the same day. Yesterday, I came across this site. And I am now trying to unlock my phone, but I am stuck at the App Snap. All I get is a blue dot. I let the phone sit for several minutes, until it locks up, and I have powered off the phone and back again, and tried the site again same deal. I guess since I have a newer firmware,it means sol?

Hi,
I have a 1.1.1 iphone that was activated with at&t which I decided to unlock.
I have run appsnap and jailbroken successfully.
then I ran anysim and it went through the process and gave me unlock successful message.
I did the unlock of course with my other sim card in!
After rebooting my phone, I get an "incorrect sim" message and i am back to the activate with itunes with the globe screen.
only emergency calls possible.
I shut the phone off again and put in my att card and no problems there.
I can still use it all is fine, making and receiving calls etc.....
so, i am wondering what my next step is, as i really need that phone unlocked as i am traveling overseas a lot!

First post here so be gentle!

From nosing around on the new I have managed to ulock my iphone, then virginize it then install anysim and it works fine on O2 here in England.

However if you switch the phone off and back on again it shows as no service and if you look at the "carriers" it just says error.

From there I have to do a restore via itunes (on a pc, not a mac) to 1.1.1, jailbreak it, virginize it and then run anysim again.

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

SIM Not working

I updated to 1.1.2 with iphonesimfree. It didn't work so I downgraded back to 1.1.1 and activated the phone with the *#307# method. Everything seems to work fine except that it won't recognize my sim. I don't get an error message just won't connect to the network. So i downgraded back 1.02 and it picked up my carrier (Rogers). So i upgraded to 1.1.1 again and I'm having the same issue. Does anyone know how to solve this? Any time this occured before it was just a matter of activating the phone again with independence. But because i used the other method I don't know how to do this.

Any insight is much appreciated.

Sorry for the elementary question but here goes. I have an iphone running 1.1.2. Have never done any hacking/modding to it before, just updated to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1 through itunes.

Im going out of the country for a month, and i want to take my iphone with me without having to pay those huge roaming bills. I was wondering if its possible to unlock 1.1.2, and then later when i have returned to the states, revirginize the phone? If so, what would be the process that i would have to follow?

had to restore my 1.0.1 iphone (due to a crash while installing the adobe cs3 photoshop software) using itunes (restored to 1.1.2 then downgraded to 1.0.2), activated using winstaller then unlocked using simfree v1.8. finally got my T-Mobile service back but iTunes gives me the error cannot use the iphone with iTunes because of an incorrect IMEI number. if i remove the sim it synchs to iTunes fine but i'd like to find a fix so i won't have to constantly remove the sim everytime i want to synch the phone with iTunes. i'm on Windows XP. any help appreciated!

To let you all know, i have donated a brand new UK iPhone to geohot which he recieved this morning at 10:30am. He has informed me that he is confident he can
hardware dump the new bootloader. This will be a huge milestone in getting the 1.1.2 OOB iPhones unlocked, as once this is done, the Dev Team can find an exploit just
like they did on the old one. Check back for regular updates!

It seems that the 1.1.2 iPhone is shipping with a different bootloader. The iPhone dev community does not provide any tools for this new bootloader yet, so wait a bit longer. These phones are shipped with the Version 4.6 bootloader where the old ones had 3.9.

- upgrade to 1.1.2 and i couldnt unlock
- downgrade to 1.0.2
- jailbreak 1.0.2
- install anySim 1.2.1u ( to unlock it )

after running it , it freez ! i think i must see an alert with OK button ... but there is no alert ... and i can do nothing !

i have 04.01.13_G now ... and all the files in anySim.app have 775 permision.

I am trying to downgrade it to 1.1.1 so I did the restore + shift and selected the file for 1.1.1. It has done it but comes up with 'error 1604'

Just bought another iphone at the 5th avenue applestore.
Unfortunately it seems like it's version 1.1.2 (different first screen with slide for emergency in the four major european languages EN, FR, IT, GE)

I would like to downgrade it and just unlock and activate a 1.1.1 version so i can use it just with 1.1.1.

I've realized most hackers focus on hacking 1.1.2 and therefore I've had trouble finding information on how to do so (downgrade, unlock, activate and use it in 1.1.1) and how to do it safely.

Any help or good website?

i bought an iphone it came whit the firmware ver. 1.1.1
i downgraded to 1.02

used ibrickr to activate and anysim to unlock, every thing was find untill i install like 3 apps in a row whitout waiting a guees for the installs to happend
well it got to and installation loop never ending so i decided to restored

i try 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 and i got erros
now i restore whit 1.0.2 and the phone is fine only that is not activated
i try jailbeacking it but its only for version 1.1.1

i try doing a ibricker again and it gaved me the yellow triangle whit the msg connect to itunes

when i try to upgrade the phone to 1.1.1
gives me and 1603 error
and when i try 1.1.2
it gives me an 2003
error

i did the jailbreack whiout realizing its only for ver 1.1.1

i have just activated my iphone to tmobile successfully but now i cant seem to connect to my itunes...nothing comes up...it doesnt even charge...

when i sucessfully used anysim nothing came up and i tho i did sumthing wrong

i read a post and some1 said to do this:

Open winscp, go to /usr/libexec backup the lockdownd file. Place new file in that folder and chmod it to 0755

and than i was about to use onesim to go back and redo anysim but before i did onesim i saw tmobile signal so i didnt do it

Hey guys, im havin' some trouble anyone want to help me out?

To make a long story short, I had an unlocked 1.1.1, upgraded to 1.1.2, phone flipped out, took forever, but i got it to 1.0.2 and now im at the activate iphone screen.

If I can just activate it then I know how to do everything else from there! I've done this many many times, I know what I'm messin around with so don't consider me a "noob" or anything. Im just stuck because all previous activation methods will NOT work.

I've tried iDemocracy 2 and clicking activate 1.0.2, ive tried AppTapp, ive tried winstaller, and if i open independence and click activate it says Waiting For Jail.. and then puts it back in restore mode.

I don't have my ATT sim card and have gotten weird/different results if i have the sim card in and out. (tmobile sim card by the way)

All documented methods to activate 1.0.2 seem to either just automatically quit, or stop in the command prompt. It gives me the "looking for iphone..." message, then all of them seem to give me the "UsbMuxListenerCreate: No Error" message.

Apparantly others have gotten this when they didnt have iTunes installed and tried to jailbreak or something, but I have itunes 7.3 on my windows xp machine and 7.4 on my mac.

So should i try and activate it with an unactivate at&t sim card? i just dont know what to do at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated I will thank you.

:) Hola a todos. el otro dia buscando en la red un procedimiento para hacer un downgrade desde la 1.1.1 a la versi�n 1.0.2, encontre un tutorial ac�, el cual les comento funcion� sin problemas, lo que comentando a ustedes para confirmaci�n del proceso.

Note: actualmente tengpo el IPH con la 1.1.1 y activado y desbloquedo (originalmente tenia la 1.0.2)

por algun arazon realice el upgrade a la 1.1.1 y itunes no lo reconicia, con este proceso corregi el problema quedando en la 1.0.2, y realice nuevamente el upgrade a la 1.1.1 y el telefono era reconocido

Si eres un poseedor de la versi�n 1.1.1 y no sabes que hacer con tu nuevo iPhone, puedes probar este tutorial para bajar la versi�n hasta la 1.0.2.
Seg�n he leido este downgrade te permite usar el iPhone como iPod, internet, mail pero no como tel�fono, pero algo es algo.
Actualizado: Ya es posible liberar el tel�fono siguiendo estos tutoriales
1. Abir iTunes y enchufar el iPhone que tenga la 1.1.1
2. Mantener presionado el bot�n Power + Home durante unos 10 sgundos. Permite que el tel�fono se apague pero manten presionados los botones. Despu�s de los 10 segundos suelta el bot�n power pero mant�n presionado el bot�n Home hasta que iTunes reconozca a tu iPhone. La pantalla del iPhone no tiene que mostrar nada.
3. iTunes te preguntar� si quieres restarurarlo, entonces mant�n presionada la tecla�Alt� (en Mac) o �Shift� (en Win) y presiona el bot�n restaurar.
Ahora iTunes te pedir� que selecciones que firmware quieres, y tendr�s que navegar hasta la carpeta donde hayas descomprimido el firmware 1.0.2.
4. Empezar� el restorey cuando se complete dar� un error y el iPhone mostrar� un tri�ngulo amarillo en la pantalla. Deja iTunes abierto, y abre la aplicaci�n �AppTapp�. Esta te dar� un error, pero tu ver�s el bot�n �Activate iPhone�.
5. Abre �AppTapp� otra vez. Si el sigue sin reconocerte al iPhone reinicia el pc y vuelve a abrir �AppTapp� otra vez.
6. Ahora deber�as tener la versi�n 1.0.2. Ya podr�s usar el resto de porgramas compatibles con este versi�n.
No he podido comprobar si funciona o no, simplemente lo he extra�do de los foros de modmyiPhone.

guys hope you can help me out... sorry i have to post a new thread coz i was very confused of so many method in the forum, and m not exactly a computer wiz. heres what happen:

i have a v1.1.1 unlock unit, after trying to add a ringtone thru winscp and over writing the HEX, my phone went dead, and i try to restore with itunes and ibrickr i accidentaly updated it to v1.12, now its lock, so i try the method of "UPGRADE TO 1.12 jailbreak, use apptap installer downgrade to 1.1.1 and unlock" it went well, i was able to install bsd system, make the unlocking tools folder, install the anysim1.1, when i try to unlock the phone with anysim1.1 it wont unlock, thats the time i remember that i miss the part of downgrading to v1.1.1, now m stuck, and the wifi wont connect anymore

guys what should i do next? should i uninstall the files i have install? or should i go straight to downgrading the unit to v1.1.1

please please please help me with this

Got a used iPhone today that was upgraded to 1.1.2. I downgraded to 1.0.2, then back to 1.1.1, jailbreaked, activated, installed anySim from i.unlock.no and ran it. Took about 5 minutes and said it was successfull. Reboot the phone and still get the "Incorrect SIM" message. Tried running anySim again but after a bit of the install it says that it cannot continue.

Any ideas what to do next?

Sim in the phone is a valid at&t sim (not an iphone sim though).

Update: Currently I'm installing oneSim to undo Anysim and then I will try anysim again.

My used phone didnt come with any sim, is that messing everything up? I have run anySim 1.1 successfully several times with my cingular sim in the phone. I am trying it right now with no sim in the phone.

I had upgraded a week ago to 1.1.2 by mistake.. but downgrade and virginized my baseband and upgrade to 1.1.1 and unlocked it with anysim1.1.1.....does the baseband have to be 1.1.2 on 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 firmware to unlock 1.1.2?;)

Hi All

I just received a couple of un-opened Iphone's (1 week 36 & the other week 38) with 03.14.08_G in them.

So these are v1.0.2 if my searching is correct.

I need to activate/jailbreak and unlock them both.

There appears to be many methods around at the moment to do this - which is the best right now?

Also can I update them to 1.1.2 without much hassle.

I am giving them to freinds and I would prefer them to have latest firmware on them to avoid any issue of them updating via Itunes automatically and messing the unlock up.

I've had 1.0.2 , 1.1.1 till a few days ago and I never had any problems with the signal strengh always full bars but ever since I upgraded to 1.1.2 every now and then I'll leave my phone in standby and when I turn it on there are no signal bars and Ill have to fool around with it for a few seconds before I get all my bars back up. Does anybody have any ideas on what is goin on? Much help would be appreciated.

I used the, Uber 1.1.1 unlocking (15 minutes) no down grading Mac or PC! on my new iphone, after restarting, the phone seems to be stuck on the apple logo and it seems to restart after 5 mins.
I have tried to restore it by holding down the home button, but the phone even seems to have trouble shutting down.. so no joy down that road.
And the phone does not boot up sufficent to be recognised by windows or MAC.
Anyone know a solution around this...

My iPhone was a factory v1.1.1 (purchased on November 8 in New York). I jailbroke and activated it using iDemocracy on Windows XP. Finally I unlocked it using anySim 1.. because I am a cheap bastard.
Now I want to use iphonesimfree method of unlocking so that I can upgrade to 1.1.2 and future updates without fear of bricking. Do you know of a way to remove anySim mods so that I can apply IPSF unlock on my phone?

Hey Guys,

Im a rookie and this is my first post. I have some understanding on how things work with upgrading, etc but want to see what would be the best way to go. I orignially bought my iphone when they first came out with original software then i upgraded through apple intill i got to 1.1.1 then I jailbroke it and currently running jailbroken 1.1.1 with 04.01.13_G firmware.

I installed the oktoprep through installer i assume this will upgrage me to a jailbroken 1.1.2 automatically when i connect to itunes??

I then wanted to unlock iphone after i do that and wanted to know if the anysim app I dl on installer with accomplish this?

Any help or comments are welcomed. Thanks!!

Hi

I upgraded(accidently) to v1.1.2.Then unlocked it through (Uber 1.1.1 unlocking (15 minutes) no down grading Mac or PC!).went to jailbreakme.com on my iphone and installed "install app snap".But my phone showed Incorrect Sim,so i got freaked out and installed anysim1.1 and tried unlocking,It said anysim cannot unlock.

Then i tried downgrading to v1.0.2 through itunes but an error popped "Unknown error occurred (1604) or(1) or(4)".Now i am unable install packages from installer.apps cuz error pops "Main script execution Failed".

Please help me.

Hello,

I'd be interested to understand a bit further how AnySim works,
in particular,

1. does the sim card used in the unlocking process is important,
or you can unlock with carrier 'A' and go with 'B' after processing?
2. why is so important to use the 'old card' in OneSim, does that
mean you hve to use your at&t card, or precisely the sim card you
used to unlock the phone ?
3.what goes on with the NCK counter, I mean,
3.a.
does it get incremented if I use more than one sim card ?
3.b.
does it get to 'null' after OneSim, or do I have to revirginize the phone
to get to 'null' ?
3.c. finally does the virginization process involving the ierase command
bring the NCK counter to 0 ?

UK, O.O.B, App Snap Not Working

I have tried numerous times to activate my iPhone so i can use it with a pay as you go o2 sim card, but when i get to the app snap step and click on install app snap in the safari browser, the phone returns to the activation screen and nothing happens. I have tried this countless times and waited up to 30 minutes for a response but nothing happens. My iPhone is a week 42 model (according to the 4th and 5th digets of the serial number on the back of it) i have downgraded to 1.1.1 using iTunes 7.4.3.1 and when i check the version by typing *#3001#12345#* it says 04.02.13_G. Can any1 think of the problem i am having or sugest another method that doesnt use jailbreakme.com? I have searched alot of fourms and they all say use jailbreakme.com

Hello friends,
I am in a big problem. I used my money earned from every hard works to buy a iPhone.
But because of some of my mistakes, it got some problems. According to different threads in this forum, I followed the stuffs like installing new firmware of 1.0.2 etc. But then suddenly it got showing some codes, check the image below:

Then I followed this thread's steps to kick it up and it worked in some way. My iPhone started showing the correct screen. But as a side-effect it has became slow or say it freezes. When I turn it on, its Apple logo appears and last for some 2 to 3 minutes. Then the SLIDE TO UNLOCK screen comes.When I swipe, it stays at the same screen for again 5 to 7 minutes. Then makes that iPhone tune of touch and then the same screen appears or the main home option panel dock appears.
When selecting any option, same thing, it slows down and freezes for long.

And also starts showing that loading rotating circle image and the image also freezes, it doesnt rotates, just freezes with it.

Update: Whenever I plug the iPhone to the computer, the iTunes shows this error - "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone 'iPhone' because an unknown error occured (0xE8000023) ."

What to do?
Plz suggest. I don't wanna loose my iPhone :S

I have had hell with my iphone ever since trying to update to 1.1.2 with incorrect sim message and not being able to anysim it, untill i finally read this guide http://www.360patches.com/downgrade.html Before I got to here I downgraded from 1.1.2 with 1.1.1 firmware and used ibricker to break it out of the error so it booted up. then used ibricker to downgrade to 1.0.2 and then used that guide to restore my baseband firmware. At the last step u do the same as downgrading the firmware, chose the virginize download in the same section and swich to the same directory and use virginize as the command. I then used anysim from the same directory and it worked. I dont know why this was the only method that worked for me as i had tried many methods to virginize my phone and downgrade the baseband firmware all i can say is im happy if anyone has same problem i would try to help :) thanks!

My Iphone was jailbroken and is running on 1.0.2. and is on 3.09.14 Firmware.

I ran anysim and it said my phone was successfully unlocked. I restarted my phone and it will not recognize my t-mobile sim???

Also their is a little blue icon next to my battery icon that looks like a little phone with buttons maybe????

are all Blank??? Any info would be appreciated. I want my phone to work!

hi i have accidently upgraded to 1.1.2 and then i downgrade to 1.1.1 and i try to activate using appsnapp and it worked just fine nut i says please insert valid sim and i am using at@t sim it should not say that i also try unlock with any sim but is says anysim cannot unlock this phone

I've noticed in posts where people have upgraded to 1.1.2 and it changes their firmware to same as out of box 1.1.2 that being said I saw replies of them needing to re-virginize their phone. If the 1.0.2 matches the 3.xx firmware its supposed to enable the unlock for the phone correct?

can that process be done with an out of box 1.1.2? and if not please explain because that would make no sense to me.

I recently purchased a 8gb apple iphone. I activated it using jailbreakme.com (by the way its firmware 1.1.1) and installed all sorts of apps on it.

I did NOT get a carrier of any kind (eg at&t,tmobile.......)

now I want to activate it with AT&T, but the activation screen is gone.

is there any way to 'deactivate' it?

A lot of us here are wanting the IphoneDev team to find an unlock for our UK iphones. Well i read on another website, (Dont know if i can post it on here as its advertising) that without donating we cant really get much further as they aint got the new UK Iphone with the new bootloader to work with. Im just sayin, im in UK and awaiting , so im going to donate some of my funds to them so they can work on it and appreciation too.

We would like to let all our valued customers know that all testing for update 1.1.2 version phones is now complete. Yet again, SimFree remained completely unlocked and restore resistant for 1.1.2 version phones but we wanted to check and verify new updates to the OS region changes before recommending trouble free updates. As with all updates, the phone needs to be jail-broken and activated again for it to function. Thanks to the great work of the community, jail-breaking a 1.1.2 phone is now possible and works great.

We would like to also bring your attention to the recent events surrounding the iPhone Scene around the world. The recent launch of the European iPhone has introduced a new Bootloader which "currently" does not allow any kind of unlocking. The same Bootloader is present on the new iPhones that are purchased in the US with 1.1.2 pre-installed.

We are also ready to release SimFree v1.8 which is for people who got their base-bands updated to 04.02.13_G before using SimFree. This version must be used on a 1.1.1 Phone (with old bootloader) and then you will be able to update to 1.1.2 and still remain unlocked.

As a reminder, customers who have used any version of SimFree in the past are NOT required to re-unlock their phone for this update!

Procedure to update to 1.1.2 from older versions:

1. In Installer go to Tweaks 1.1.1 and install Oktoprep.
2. Open iTunes and hit Update in order to install 1.1.2 (note that if you press Restore it wont work)
3. After that is done, download Jailbreak-1.1.2 and proceed with the Jailbreak procedure. (for Windows & Mac)
4. You will want to install iWorld from Installer after you update (found in Tweaks 1.1.2) in order to fix a known 1.1.2 crash caused with Unsupported Carriers.

The procedure to Install SimFree v1.8 on your Phone remains the same as before. Just add http://tinyurl.com/2qxpe6 in the Installer Sources and you will have the option to install SimFree v1.8 on your phone.

I saw a post within the thread http://www.hacktheiphone.com/112/iph...nlock_mac.html It was for mac OS X which I have.(OS X 10.4.11 ppc-itunes 4.5) (my iphone was purchased in september,my bootloader was fine. Started 1.0.2--unlocked anysim---virginized--1.1.1.--unlocked) So I started I couldn't put phone into dfu mode, so I manually upgraded to 1.1.2. Guide says it would work with phones upgraded accidently so I figured what the heck. Now when it comes to downgradeing phone back to 1.0.2. I can't get iphone in to dfu mode(I've done it before with other unlocks) Is it the firmware ? or my os x version. I guess I have a brick. Thanks for any help.

I my phone is now is firmware 1.0.2 it is activated and now i think i just need to unlock it sung anysim.

Well i added the anysim program to my phone and click "ok, unlock my iphone" but after i click it and it processes for about 10 minutes it says
"Unlock Failure, Couldn't load the SECPACK DATA"

Can someone please tell me what i need to do??

I have a fully unlocked US iphone fw version 1.1.2 with T-Mobile SIM. YouTube works perfectly when I'm on a WiFi connection. When I try it with my T-Mobile EDGE connection it will load the videos list, but when I try to click on them it says, "YouTube videos require an EDGE or Wi-Fi connection" Anyone else experiencing the same problem?:confused:

Hi guys,

Hoping you could help me out here. I've got a OTB 1.0.2 which i upgraded to 1.1.1 using the jailbreakme method. Used AnySim 1.1.1 to unlock.

I didn't do any patched lockdownd changing.

I changed my sim cards around yesterday to try to see if it would work. The other sim card didnt ask to be activated. It had a proper signal from the carrier. (didn't test to see if could call in/out)

I changed it back to my old sim card and while i have signal from the carrier, I am unable to make calls or sms (both of which fail)

Tried turning on and off and waiting a while but it still doesnt work.

Any advice? I dont think i have read a problem like this.

BTW, running on a mac. =)

Im in a real jam.

When it was in restore mode i clicked restore and upgrade on the itunes pop uk window.

Now it is stuck in recovery mode. I tried to downgrade to 1.0.2 again but it just comes up will an error window.

I'm having the RANDOM CRASHES problems with my iphone ever since i accidently upgraded to 1.1.2 last week and then downgraded my baseband. I tried on 1.0.2, 1.1.1, and now 1.1.2, my phone works ok for 2-3hrs, then i get a network connection lost / crashes reboot iphone, then my phone keeps rebooting every 15min and keeps crashing! yes i tried to re-virginize my phone many times.

i don�t know what to do anymore i�m missing calls all the time because of that, it was working great before but now its almost unusable, i�m thinking of selling it this week maybe.

This tutorial written up for iPhoneUnlockAustralia. It may NOT be copied or redistributed.

Please read:

This tutorial is for the Windows Operating System ONLY.

This tutorial is for iPhones on 1.1.2 that were upgraded ONLY. This is not suitable for brand new iPhones on 1.1.2

Ready? Let's go.

Download the pack below:

Start by plugging your iPhone into iTunes in restore mode (hold home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds, then release the sleep button)

iTunes will recognise it right away. You will see a restore button. Hold shift and click restore. Navigate to your 1.1.1 firmware file.

Let it restore and eventually you will get a "Unknown error occurred" (1015). Now you have a 1.1.1 iPhone with the 1.1.2 modem firmware.

Now you need to enter DFU mode. Best solution is to use iBrickr. You have to hold home and sleep buttons and when the screen turns black let go of sleep and keep holding home. iTunes will recognisze this and you will shift+click restore and navigate to 1.0.2 firmware files. Let it restore and you will get a "Unknown error occurred" (1013) and the yellow triange should pop up.

Now click wiNstallerGUI from the package downloaded above. Click activate and it should activate the phone as well as jailbreak it. Then hit install application and navigate to the installer.app folder inside the first wiNstaller folder in the downloaded pack. You should now have a 1.0.2 phone still with the 1.1.2 modem firmware but is now activated, jailbroken, and you have installer installed.

Tap installer and update it. Install Community Sources, than BSD Subsystem, and than OpenSSH. Install WinSCP and click it. Connect to the internet on your iphone through Wi-Fi and than click the blue arrow next to it and write down the IP. In WinSCP for the host name type in your IP for username type root and for password type dottie. Change file protocal to SCP.

Navigate to /usr/bin which is in the root of the phone which looks like this: /

Transfer all the files in the Baseband folder into /usr/bin

Close WinSCP and open putty. Type in your IP again into hostname and click ok. Type in root and the when it asks for the password type dottie (you wont see the letters when you type, but I assure you, you are typing.)

Type this into putty and hit enter after each line. Capitals matter.

launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

cd /usr/bin

chmod +x ieraser

chmod +x bbupdater

ieraser

bbupdater -v

bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep

After a 2-3 minute wait it should be done. Now type:

bbupdater -v

It should show 3.14_08

Now restore to 1.0.2 (just a refresh to get rid of unwanted files)
Then restore to 1.1.1 and continue on with the jailbreak unlock process. (Search for it yourself, or we can do it for you)

Woo hoo! You now have a 1.1.1 iPhone, downgraded from the accidental 1.1.2 upgrade - easy wasn't it?

I found this information and here it is for every one who needs it. It worked great for me.

I am currently running unlocked and nicely working 1.1.1

I currently use my iPhone on the O2 network. Is it possible to flash it with the UK version (if there is one) of the 1.1.2 firmware and then just jailbreak it so that I am locked on O2 but jailbroken?

If so, any instructions to a total idiot on how to do it?

I'm having some problems with anysim I have tried it like 20 times now and still no luck Version 1.1 and version 1.2.1u I just keep getting an error message saying that "anysim cannot unlock this phone. anysim will now quit. Please restart"..

I had my phone all working and unlocked on 1.1.1 but then I stupidly upgraded to 1.1.2 without reading that version 1.1.2 is only jailbroken and not yet unlocked so I had to restore everything but it didn't take me back to where I was it just gave me clean locked version of 1.1.1 so I followed this guide http://modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13015 to unlocking it and I so far have everything working except the sim card I even somehow have restored all my original stuff (pics, messages, contacts) Itunes knew the phone already and uploaded a backup that it had made. I just keep getting that error message above whenever I try to use anysim (it was unlocked by this method before because when I got the phone it had anysim installed).

Now I have read somewhere that once it has been unlocked you can't unlock it again unless you virginize it or something is this true?

I don't know if it was 1.0.2 that had been upgraded to 1.1.1 so I'm not sure if I should revert to 1.0.2 and try and unlock that. I really need to get it working again and I'd rather not stuff it anymore than it already is if possible.

Can anyone help on this matter?

For weeks I've been scouring this and other forums looking for the process to UNLOCK a 1.1.1 IPHONE activated with Itunes and AT&T SIM card, thus in good standing with APPLE, ADAM, EVE and AT&T so far...

Obviously the Phone was jailbroken with Installer running and some other applications.

My intent is to continue to use AT&T services, which BTW are the least expensive here in the US, and use the local SIM when traveling overseas.

I can't find any comprehensive guide or a mention of the process to UNLOCK an AT&T LOCKED gizmo!

Please someone direct me to the link. MAC OR WINDOWS!

Hey all, I've been reading through these guides and they all seem pretty simple, except they all seem to be for people buying a new iPhone and using on other networks than AT&T.

I'm planning on buying a used iPhone, popping out my sim from my PDA phone and popping it in the iPhone. I already am on a PDA plan for internet/email with AT&T.

Will I have to do anything other than the peice of the guilde for running anysim to allow my sim to go in? I assume I wont have to fully unlock the phone since I wont be using it with a non-At&t carrier.

When updates come out it obviously breaks the unlocking, but does it break the anysim as well?

For the current time, can I jailbreak it, activate it, and use it for browsing internet via WiFi and as ipod?

Will this brick my iphone? If not, do I have to reverginize later to update or upgrade?

Do you think that unlock will be available for it? How long would it take (estimation)?

I believe an unlock will be available only when a new firmware gets released so that we can read the traffic and find out what is happening.. What do you think?

My iPhone is faulty. Won't wake from sleep when a call comes in. (V 1.1.1)
In Apple discussions, one response I got was from a guy who had a similar problem and tried everything. He had to take it to Apple and have it replaced.

My QUESTION:

What do I have to do to make the Jailbreak/ unlock undetectable by Apple's Geniuses in the Apple Store so that I can get this one replaced? Will restore do this?

i was recently running 1.0.2 unlocked. I revirginized my phone then upgraded to 1.1.1

I jailbroke and am now trying to get anysim 1.2 UNLOCK FOR Baseband 4.02.13_G onto my phone. For some reason i am unable to ssh into my phone putty & winscp can not connect. I am running wi-fi and the address is correct!

is their any other way to get anysim 1.2 on my phone? Is their a source for installer.app????

I'd like to buy and unlock an iphone to use here in the UK (with my orange SIM) but i can't decide whether to get a US phone imported or buy a UK phone. I know the UK phones can't be fully unlocked but will they ever be ? I don't mind waiting a couple weeks but i can't really find any info on whether they'll ever be unlocked. Various UK based unlocking sites seem to suggest they will be but i dont know if thats true or not.

Hello everybody!

Maybe somebody out there can give me a step-to-step tut on how to fix my iphone problem.

Let me give you a breakdown of the problem:
I bought an iphone (unlocked and jail broken and running fw v1..1.1). I accidentally (foolish me) upgraded to version 1.1.2 and my sim became locked! I managed to restore it first back to 1.1.1 and ran anysim (i was able to activate it with iNdependence and also with iDemocracy) but sim still remain locked (i am in europe but the phone was bought and sent to me from home and still have the at&a card which was used to activate and unlock.) i tried tried iphonefree sim, same problem. Then i downgraded to 1.0.2, activated and ran anysim again. Same problem, saying it cant be unlocked! I tried also iphone freesim, no success.

I did a new restore, to 1.1.1. and back to 1.0.2 (so far i have left it on 1.0.2 and have not tried to activate it again). I am not quite sure if the unlocking is not working because the simcard (at&&) have been used to unlocked it before or because i accidentally left the simcard in the phone when i ran anysim and iphone freesim. Or i ave to revirginized it again? Everything worked fien except the sim unlock.

Another thing is that when i am on fw v1.0.2, the WLAN detects other wireless network in my neighborhood but not mine. Even when i tried to use the open network, it comes back with an error that it cannot connect. But the WLAN work in 1.1.1.

Please i need somebody to help me and give a step-by step instructions.

I am very sorry if this question has already been answered but I couldn't find the answer with the search tool.

Am I right in saying that if I boyught a UK iPhone with version 1.1.2 I could activate it and use all the features that an iPod touch has. However I would not be able to use it as a phone. Is it correct that the UK phone will accept any o2 simcard such as the pay as you go one?

If I am wrong please can you correct me?

My baby is running Firmware 1.1.2, Bootloader BOOT03.09_M3S2 & unlocked. Everything seems to work fine! My one and only Problem is:

EDGE does not show up under Settings/General/Network

Does anybody have some ideas? Tried the EDGE fix with ID2 under 1.1.2 but doesn't seem to help.

I feel it only fair to tell you all that my O2 iPhone is now FULLY FUNCTIONAL :D

I have an O2 contract with my old phone, �20 pm online sim only. My sim is so old, it still registers as BT Genie.

Steps I took;

Followed these instructions up to a point!

With my old sim card in the phone.

NO FURTHER ACTION WAS TAKEN :eek:

Fully functional, including all phone functions (except visual voicemail).

I'm using a Mac, but I do not see why it should not happen on a PC. Either that, or I'll have a brick in the morning ;)

Off to bed now as I'm up early for work, where there is no Wi-Fi. Where I will check for data transfer over the cell network, etc.

And for my next trick, I'll do the same thing on my mate's iPhone (yeah right)!

Any questions, I do not have the answers! As it happened all on its own!!!

My question is can I use Oktopprep upgrade to 1.1.2 and unlock by anysim 1.2?

Can it be used worldwide? i have been reading and some say that with not work worlwide that you have to set the carrier settings and phone number.??

Also I downloaded IDemocracy 2.0 and you have the option of countries on 1.1.2 section. Only those countries would work if you unlock?

Please let me know if you have any ideas or comments.

wanting to upgrade to 1.1.2 but am reading so many different posts about methods that work with different versions and am now very confused.

Im in UK and have a US iphone running 1.1.1.

Modem Firmware 04.01.13_G

iphone is able to use any sim card I choose (currently vodafone) but it was this way when I bought it so I dont know how it was done.
there are no extra icons on main menu and I would like to keep it that way.

1. If i plug into itunes and press update to 1.1.2. will my phone stop working (as a phone)?

2. Can I upgrade to 1.1.2 without installing jailbreak/appsnapp/anything that will add extra icons which i wont use.

3. Can I tell what method was previously used to let my phone use any sim?

Problems with activation need help

i bought an iphone ( v. 1.0.2)about 2 months ago and i bought it so i could use it with t-mobile .. i started off the unlock by bypassing activation with the "one click iphone unlocker" found at dotalex . com ... i then found out about Anysim and used it to unlock the iphone ..it wus sucessful for a few hours but when i took the tmobile sim out of the iphone so i could put it in my old phone so i could write down all my contacts.. i then put the sim card back into the iphone and for some reason it says no service and i go to look at the menu where it shows the carriers and the folder for the carriers isnt there anymore .. so under where it says wi-fi it use to say carriers but now its not there.. i then search around online for a solution and all i could find is to restore iphone so i did that but now it says "Activate Iphone" and i try to do the same step i did before with the "one click unlocker" and it doesnt work so i tryed the one where you enter the emergency calling and that didnt work either..is there a way to reverginize the iphone by only being on the "activate iphone" screen?? or does anyone have a solution to this problem ??...

OktoPrepped to 1.1.2, now go back to 1.1.1?

Hi all. I had been using my unlocked activated iphone under 1.0.2 and 1.1.1. I was using anysim. I foolishly updated the iphone to 1.1.2 which will not let me use my SIM. Duh. Ive just downgraded my OTB 1.1.2 iphone to 1.1.1. I know its not possible to unlock yet as we have a different bootloader to the phones in the US but ive read in a couple of places you can use a o2 pay&go simcard?

Ive tried this and still get no service? Do i need to install some kind of unlocking app?? Im not really sure and dont want to brick it.

Ive tried searching but you cant search o2 as its less than 3 characters long so apologies if this has been asked before and its probably quite a newbie question.

What is not so clear (to me) is how to upgrade and UNLOCK from 1.1.1 or earlier...

I read that IPhone, on 1.1.2 FW, detects if i use a Turbosim!

ok, here is the story:
- bought an iphone 1.1.1 native in US serial XXX44XXXXXX last week
- downgraded to 1.0.2 and successfully activated with independence (but not unlocked)
- perform a full sync with my mac
- tried to upgrade to 1.1.1 but made a mistake and upgraded to 1.1.2: shame on me!
- now the little bastard WON'T connect to itunes either on mac or win, therefore I can't perform a downgrade. It shows the usb cable and itunes symbol all the time.
- try to perform an hard reset using sleep+hold button, reinstall itunes 7.5, 7.4, 7.4.2 and even 7.3.2 even deleting hidden files, resetting all settings and data via general settings accessed through *307#* etc., BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK

It seems to charge when connected to mac and win and also iphoto detected it (as well does System Profiler), but not itunes.

Very frustrating: hope someone can save the life of the little bastard before I start making some microwave experiment on it :D

There are tons of sites out there and reams and reams of text to wade through and it seems a good idea to get an answer here. That's how I hacked my US iPhone.

Is it possible to hack a UK iPhone running 1.1.2 to use other sims other than O2. I don't have a problem taking it back to 1.1.1 but I need to know if it can be done before my sister pays her �269.00.

My question is:

1) Installer/Appsnap = same thing? :confused:

2) I want the "installer" program on my iPhone for the 3rd party applications (Summerboard, NES, etc.) .. but do I have to virginize the phone before doing so?

3) Jail breaking your phone gets you the installer program right?

I've read some of the guides.. and it got me even more confused, lol.

Well I did it! Yes, after a short and happy life with my iphone I managed to fuc_ it up! I had a 1.0.2 unlocked and jailbroken iphone and trying to insall appsnap it got messed up and I had to restore. I tryed three times to jailbreak it to intall anysim to be able to use it with my sim, but i finally got it starting but it had "hicups" because it just started over and oever again showing the apple logo and then started up again. How can I get it working again?
Can anyone help me with this??? I'm desperate!!! Thanks.

Hi im in a dilema my iphone works great on 1.0.2, however i have heard that rather soon many applications for instance customize 1.18 will no longer have support for this firmware so i wan to take the plunge and update.

However i have a problem, my phone was unlocked with anysim 1.0 and at the time i didnt think it was bad but now i know i cant upgrade without verginizing my phone, i dont want the possibility of breaking my phone though.

If i do upgrade by verginizing my phone and upgrading what shall i do to get to 1.1.2 fully unlocked and working, shall i update to 1.1.1 and then oktoprep and then upgrade to 1.1.2.

I have heard about changing the lockdownd file in the phone with a patched one will that activate my phone, what about unlocking how will i achieve this.

These are my specs:
Modem Firmware: 03.14.08_G
Version: 1.0.2
IMEI: 0113000.....
Unlocked with anysim 1.0

How do i get from this to a fully unlocked and working 1.1.2 version iphone, i live in the UK and i am currently on the network Orange if that helps.

I virginized my 1.02 iphone

then upgraded to 1.1.1

then used jailbreakme.com

then got installer and anysim

went to run anysim..and it says

"this phone can not be unlocked"

and wont work

hey pros,

hope someone can help me out.

First, my iPhones' history:
1) bought with 1.0.2 out of the box. jailbroken and unlocked with the guide from this forum.
2) later virginized and upgraded to 1.1.1. also with the guide from this forum.

In the beginning, I tried a lot of stuff delivered by the installer app.

Now I would like to have a "clean" iPhone. Let's say: as clean as possible.

Is it possible to restore the iPhone in order to have a clean software running, except of the necessary apps for jailbreak/unlock?

What do I have to do?

first off I am not unlocked, I am an ATT customer. I had 1.1.2 running fine jailbreaked than stared crashing so I downgraded to 1.02 than upgraded to 1.1.1 but here's where the problem starts, 1.1.1 restors fine but a message appears that says "waiting for activation" iTunes doesn't know my phone #, no Edge service and it won't activate on 1.1.1 - it works fine with 1.02 though - id like to upgrade and get back to my jailbroken 1.1.2 with everything working "activated" :)

Hi guys,I just bought an iphone yesterday.Its version is 1.0.2(1c28)
It is already unlocked and workin fine with my telephone carrier.I dnt knw hw it was unlocked as i got it from someone who got it from someone else(i am outside US)

There are few thing i would like to ask
1.Should i try and upgrade my firmware,wats the advantage of new firmware?
2.how do i upload songs on it.i currently i hv itunes 7.5.
3.How do i use wifi?

Ps:i really dont wanna take any risk of blocking it.

Help would be greatly appreciated,thanks in advance!

So I had ATT for a little over a month and figured if I changed over to tmobile I could save over $40 a month in the bill. So I've got my 1.1.1 phone unlocked and got my sim today from tmobile with the Total internet package. My problems lies in this, the 1st time I put the sim in, it worked. I even made a phone call to a friend and was all happy. Then I turned the phone off, and back on to have it not work sense. I've done a lot of reading on the forums but I can't even find out what's wrong with the phone, let alone why it's not working.

I see a button in the settings called Carriers, I typed internet2.voicestream.com and I see a T-mobile listed, but it wont let me select it.

Help?

recently restored my unlocked 1.02 firmware using itunes v7.3.2.6 using the recovery mode/'restore button' (1.02 firmware, with update unticked/modem off), everything went smoothly with the restore, itunes state that i've sucessfully completed the firmware restore, but now i'm stuck at the default planet wall paper with..

'Activate iphone, connect to itunes' and 'slide for emergency'

after a iphone and PC reset, i connect to itunes v7.3.2.6, but it says ' You must be using itunes 7.5 or greater to activate'

*help* :confused:

Any 'unlocker' experts out there can advise me what went wrong? or at least in what state my poor iphone is in? i hope its not locked? :eek:

AT&T family plan .vs T-Mobile family plan

hello all

I am coming off my Sprint contract, already bought an iPhone a couple months back (not activated, but jail-broken) and I'm wanted to get the skinny on carrier rate plans.

So, I just did the math comparing an AT&T family plan with 700 shared minutes .vs a comparable T-Mobile plan.

OK. The sales person at the local AT&T store said he would set up my account as if I was a current AT&T customer so the plan could be set up as an upgrade to my service. I guess this is how they do it if you REALLY are a current AT&T customer and are upgrading to the iPhone. Or it had something to do with the fact that I wanted a family plan with one phone being an iPhone and other a regular phone. Not sure. I was also setting it up with a data plan for the iPhone only. Oh yea, I dont know about T-Mobile but the guy at the AT&T store said he would waive my activation fee since I was switching from Sprint. All the T-Mobile info was taken from their website. Both plans have the same basic features, call waiting etc.

The following is assuming you've already bought and iPhone and will be getting a free phone with a new 2 year agreement.

AT&T:

Minutes 700 (shared)
Rate $70
Data Plan $20 (one phone)
Fees & Tax $15
TOTAL $105

T-Mobile:

Minutes 700 (shared)
Rate $60
Data Plan $6 (one phone)
Fees & Tax $10
TOTAL $76

So final number read the T-Mobile is almost $30 cheaper a month. I think the only feature you loose on the iPhone by not having AT&T is the visual voice mail (correct me if I am wrong about this).

Just thought I would share. I'm sure there are plenty of other folks asking the same question. Is it worth $30 a month to gain the visual voice mail but having to do the SIM exchange process, albeit pretty east to do (and waiting a few weeks to update to latest sw version as they become hacked).

Let me know what yall think. Or if anything I wrote is incorrect. Want to make the move soon. thanks.

Oh yea. Not totally up on the SIM hack. I'm guessing I would go the the T-Mobile store and get a free phone with the service and swap out the SIM on the iPhone and do the sw hack. Is it that simple?

i just update my unlocked 1.1.1 iphone to 1.1.2...everything went fine...just one question, now it is jailbroaken and i can access the springboard...ho do i unlock it to use any simcard? (i live in switzerland...) i still have the original at&t sim if needed...oh yeah, i'm using a mac...

version: 1.1.2 (3B48b)
modem fw: 04.02.13_G

Hey guys,

First of all I would like to thank everyone in advance because without this site I might never have bought an iphone. On that note, it serves to state that I have gotten myself into quite a bind with my current iphone situation. Let me explain:

Originally, I acquired an unactivated iphone (1.1.1) from my friend and unlocked it using the jailbreakme.com method. It worked fine with my AT&T sim card even though I do not have an iphone plan. Unfortunately, I got carried away with modding my phone and crippled it by adding to much beta software (keyboards, themes, etc.) and realized that my only hope was a restore.

I restored the phone using itunes 7.5 to firmware 1.1.1 and tried the jailbreak process again, however, it did not work this time. Panicing, I tried several things including upgrading to 1.1.2 and even downgrading to 1.0.2 all to no avail. Now, when I try to restore the iphone to a 1.1.1 firmware, I can't get it out of recovery mode. Using the AppTappInstaller worked once but even then I still couldn't get the jailbreakme.com tiff to work right.

Currently, I am fresh off of a restore with the following specifics:
-firmware: v1.0.2 (using iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw)
-IMEI: 01 124500...
-Model: MA712
-Modem Firmware: 04.02.13_G (<--I assume this is bad)

Right now I'm staring at an activation screen with no idea what to do next, If anyone out there can help me out, it would be much obliged.

iPhone won't take SIM cards

I wanted to upgrade my 1.0.2 iPhone to 1.1.1 so I did, but after that the phone says "Incorrect SIM. Insert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate the phone" even with the AT&T one (the one that comes with it). I even tried several others from friends and I get the same.

I also ran anySIM to unlock it, it says it did but it doesn't work, any ideas??? I can't use my phone anymore, please help! :(
