I downgraded to 1.0.2 after seeing 1.1.2 has no luck for use yet, the phone is unlocked and activated, running ok normal, i have more than 16 icons on springboard, in 1.0.2 how do you access the icons you dont see?

Also Im performing all on pc, what program will activate iphone for 1.1.1?

Anysim will unlock, but need to activate after update performed.

1.1.2 Wifi issues?

Hey guys,

Just updated to 1.1.2 and I noticed that when I first turn on the phone and I have it set up as wi-fi on, the phone doesn't automatically connect me to my known network. I have to manually go into settings --> wifi and then choose my network.

Is there a fix for this?

Simple FW 1.1.2 upgrade

I found this upgrade method over on Hackent0sh stuck in a thread. Most folks were not noticing. It looks like it might be the trick. I was hoping some folks with test phones could sus out ?

Here is more easier guide... this one works only for upgraded iphones and not OTB 1.1.2.

if you are on 1.1.1 unlocked and jailbreak

1. run octoprep on the iphone
2. update to 1.1.2 (clcik update not restore i itunes)
3. jailbreak using 1.1.2 jailbreak (there is a new one where activation and youtube are already working)
4. SSh Anysim 1.2.1u
5. Reboot the phone and turn on the AIRPLANE mode (this is important so that it won't crash summerboard when unlocking is running)
5a Run anySIM 1.2.1u to unlock sim
6. install iWorld
7. your done...

we have been using these steps it eliminates the need to downgrade then upgrade again. this cuts time doing the upgrade.

[1.1.2] Slow screen wake up

Hi there!

I've upgraded my iPhone to 1.1.2 (from a unlocked 1.0.2). It was a struggle to get it to work, but it finally did!
( I used this guide )

The only problem is the slow screen wake up. When the iPhone is idle, and i press the sleep/power (or the home) button, it takes about 4 seconds to activate/backlight the screen.
Same thing happens when i'm calling, if i take the iPhone from my ear when done calling i've to wait the same 4 seconds before my screen is active again..

Anyone else with this problem? Any fixes?

This is a present for my wife and I need help, stay with me guys ok I need to give you my background :)

Ok phone was bought new 1 week ago, so that would be the 1.1.2 firmware I believe.

Ok I used the method on this site, "via wifi one" to unlock for use on my provider at the time which was AT&T. It worked find, I used it for a week and then switched providers to T-Mobile.

Now I get "Must use correct sim" blah blah message. So I think crap, I need to do something. I get the impression I need to virginize the phone, and to do this I have to downgrade from 1.1.1. to 1.0.2.

Well I do this, I currently believe that I have successfully downgraded to 1.0.2.

Now WTF do I do? I have searched and searched, but I just don't understand the material, I feel like I'm in a spider web of info. Please help.:(

Am I on the right path? Do I keep on going or do I stop?:o How I got this far is beyond me.

I did see a video on Youtube about how to easily virginize your 1.0.2. but I don't understand how it works because hes in the phone pressing butting and stuff and I'm currently locked out.

hi guys, my OTB 1.1.2 iphone downgraded to 1.1.1 and jailboked being working fine...right after i uploaded bbupdater into usr/bin folder and checked for bootloader version (4.06 version found, it's suck!!!) i reboot iphone and found iphone don't have sound any more.....any else working fine! except no sound, also when i play a you tube movie it say "this movie could not be play" i hit OK it returned back to you tube front page and show all new movie files, but can't play...maybe sound function is not working properly after i messing around with iphone. please help!!! do i need to remove bbupdater after checked for version? and do i need to uninstall openSSH ?....please help!

My iPhone seems to have come with 1.1.2 and modem firmware 04.02.13_G. I've tried the (downgrade to 1.1.1) dial zero, add jailbreakme to contacts, connect to wi-fi and jailbreak etc method - but the phone doesn't chirp and re-boot at the end of the process. I'm having no sucess with iDemocracy or 1.1.2 Jailbreak. Anyone have any ideas?

Recovery Mode

I recently got a new phone off of eBay that was terribly in bad shape and the owner claimed that it would not turn on at tall anymore. I later confirmed that it was in recovery mode (blank screen) and proceeded to restore it. Unfortunately, there are always 2 results that come out, error (6) or error (2003) both of which I have never heard of. Can anybody shed some light about what is going on?

P.S It was last on 1.1.1 and I have tried to upgrade to 1.1.2, restore to 1.1.1, and downgrade to 1.0.2 but none worked.

Sorry to bump so soon, but can I get some help? I really need it.

I live in the USA and just bought an iphone today. I do not have at&t. I want to use tmobile.

I guess I have version 1.1.2 However, i am not sure about that.

I am very confused because there are so many guides and so many different things i can do. I feel really lost.

I know i can do two things: jailbreak it and unlock it. I read somewhere that for the 1.1.2 version cannot be unlocked yet, is this true?

However, I would like to jailbreak it. Could someone point me to a noob guide that would work on my case? Also, if it can be unlocked, please point me to a guide for that as well.

hey guys.. YESTERDAY(Thanksgiving). I was trying to jailbreak my out of box Iphone that i've got couple of days prior. I guess OTB 1.1.2 can't be jailbreaked yet. I've tried everything for 4hours passing to Thanksgiving DINNER and I found some guy post in some thread that OTB 1.1.2 (US) can't be jailbroken yet. I guess I just have to wait for a new method.

These are the things i've tried last night

1.downgrade 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.1

2.using *#307... method to jailbreak 1.1.1

3.get oktoprep on 1.1.1

4.update uding itunes back to 1.1.2<------- here i get an ERROR!!!!

the update doensnt get updated and errors and i have to restore to factory settings or i think i retored to 1.1.1 and tried again updating with "shift to find the file UPDATE" and just download form itunes update.

it just won't work... help me -.-

SO... i said SCREW (wtf "F WORD" doesnt work) 1.1.2

let me just unlock the jailbroken 1.1.1 using *#307... method using anysim

Hey guys, I've been watching the boards for months and haven't posted at all because I always found the answers from searching first.

This time I thought I found the answer but can't remember where now.

I have a Jailbroken 1.1.1 iPhone with afp, bsd subsystem, customize, summerboard and some other stuff. I also installed oktoprep from the installer. but before I upgrade I want to know the following:

- can I upgrade to 1.1.2 with oktoprep with everything on my phone and when it is upgraded will it be as it is now?

- CAN I even upgrade?

hey, i just got my iphone unlocked again and i wanted to know if my iphone is jailbroken, it was jailbroken and unlocked before but after i got it fixed from a friend i cant tell if its jailbroken because it doesnt have the Installer.app on it anymore(before it did). All it has in the menu is all the regular apps likek Text Calendar,Youtube,Stocks etc, And anySIM. So is it jailbroken or is it not? And if it isnt, can i jailbreak it without messing it up so it stays unlocked? Or can i just add Installer.app with ibrickr??? thx .

I have an 1.1.2 OOB iphone and I downgraded it to 1.1.1 and when I jailbreak it using the jailbreakme.com it trows me back into dfu mode but i can use iphuc to get it out of dfu mode it detects my number but it dosent get any service lines and when i turn off the iphone and I turn it on again it goes to DFU. Im on windows using itunes 7.5 and using an ATT sim

I already fixed it, I guess it was a normal thing for it to happen, once I installed oktoprep, updated to 1.1.2 and then jailbreak it; everything worked perfectly

Tried this about 20 times now and its still NOT WORKING. I follow all the instructions from the jailbreak 1.1.2 to put my phone into recovery mode and run the 1.1.1 restore.

DOES NOT WORK. I KEEP GETTING ERROR 1 INSTEAD OF ERROR 1015 THEN I CANT USE THE JAILBREAK.JAR APP.

MY PHONE DOESNT GO INTO DFU MODE WITH THE CONNECT TO ITUNES SCREEN IT JUST STAYS BLANK UNTIL I RESTART MY IPHONE. THEN IT GOES BACK TO THE HOME SCREEN AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Hi everyone/(anyone) i have a uk iphone which came with firmware 1.1.2. I managed to jailbreak (after an unsuccessful initial try). I have not run anysim or anything like that, but i have installer and a custom skin/ttr (etc) (1) so i think that means that its just jailbroken and not unlocked?

(2) I would like to return my iphone to factory condition (in relation to firmware) and was wondering, is this possible?

(3) And would this mean that apple would not be able to tell that i previously jailbroken my iphone and (4) would I be able to update & restore freely?

Which worked wonders after I locked my phone on 1.1.2... now i'm back at 1.0.2 but my firmware is 04.02.13_G... i'm at the spot where they tell me to use "Fugu" to connect to the phone and put in anySIM to unlock it... but everytime i try Fugu says:

EDGE Missing HELP

Ok, so I jailbroke and unlocked 1.1.2 and now the EDGE is missing when I go to general/network. I've restored all the way back to 1.0.2 trying to get it back. Does anyone have an idea how the EDGE could disappear and why I can't seem to get it back?

I keep getting error (1) not the 1051 or whatever its supposed to be

And I cant kick my phone out of that mode when using the Jailbreak.jar, The bar doesnt move at all. So I have to restart my phone holding the buttons and I come back to my normal screen like nothing happened.

What am I doing wrong? I am newbie to iPhone modding.

Also: Live in US, running Mac OS Leopard. So I dont have a Euro iPhone or access to Windows.

im still on 1.0.2 firmware, stable and working fine except of uninstalling summerboard coz it makes my iphone blacks out frequently.

I did this on a jailbroken 1.1.2 phone, and needed to downgrade to get Anysim to work ( still can't SSH ) lol ! This WILL work, cause my phone went through hell and back. MAKE SURE TO HAVE 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 firmwares.

1) Add http:// i.unlock.no/ to your sources list.
2) Make sure you have BSD installed.
3) Install and run the 1.1.2 baseband downgrade program found in the unlock category in your installer.
4) You should have a message saying it's OK to downgrade firmware manually. COOL
5) Run Ibricker and downgrade to 1.0.2. You can stop here and you will have a 1.0.2 firmware phone with 3(?) baseband.
6) If you want to go to 1.1.1 go to step 7.
7) Install Installer through ibricker. Run it and upgrade it.
8) Add http:// i.unlock.no/ again.
9) Install BSD through INSTALLER not Ibricker
10) Next, run the Virginizer 3.0xxx found in unlock category.
11) You should get a message to upgrade to 1.1.1
12) Run I tunes, and it will tell you there is an update to 1.1.2 right.
13)VERY IMPORTANT WHILE HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY CLICK ON UPDATE. It will then let you pick the 1.1.1 firmware you d/loaded earlier.
14)Click on it and let it run it's course. you should now have a 1.1.1 iphone.
15) Open safari and type in jailbreakme.com The files will download and you are good to go!

Hello Everyone,

I just have a theory that we may be able to try..

I assume that iTunes can upgrade the baseband through the bootloader (old and new one).

Now, I have two scenarios.

1)

We get an iphone with the old boot loader. Downgrade it to 1.0.2 and downgrade its baseband. (Many guides are available.).

Then we use iTunes to upgrade it to 1.1.2 with its baseband. In the sametime we have to sniff the data transfered over the USB using a USB sniffer (USB Snoopy or USB Snoop) and then analyze how iTunes accessed the baseband to be upgraded (DFU mode).

After analysis we would have the key to interact with the bootloader and try it on the new iphones.

2)

We get an iphone with the new boot loader and enter DFU mode, and try to update again. Maybe, iTunes would try to update the baseband.. Sniffing the data would give us a way of interacting with the bootloader to write to baseband.

I am not sure about this, but it worth to try it.

So I was in the process of restoring because for some reason my mail app wasnt working right. I would hit it and it would want me to create a mail account. Thinking this was odd because just two minutes before that it was working fine. So after putting my account info in again, it kept bringing me to the screen with aol,yahoo,mac and other options. So i did a restore. My phone is on 1.1.1 locked and is jailbroken. Ive done plenty of restores and this one was the weirdest. After it was done it was at the regular screen then locked itself and would not slide open. Finally 30 seconds later it opened and the screen was blank with just att, wifi signal,time and battery at the top. That was it. I locked it again and opened it and nothing changed. Does anyone know why this would happen after a restore and does anyone know why my mail app would just stop working right. Any help is appreciated.

OK so i downgraded to 1.1.1 from 1.1.2 and when i came to DFU mode i opened iNdependence and independence closed immediately ive tried repeatedly and got the same result. i downgraded to itunes 7.4.2 and the same thing happens. PLZ HELP ME!!!

when i launch putty, i enter root, then dottie for password, then it says that i am logged on. Then when i try to follow the guide, as soon as i strart typing putty closes.

same using terminal, as soon as i start typing i get disconnected, what is wrong/

hi guys
one of my iphones was running on anysim on 1.1.1 perfectly for about a week.
my brother in law had it, said he was trying to get on to you tube, the phone shut off and when it restarts the apple logo comes up and then goes to the plug into i tunes screen and when u plug it inthe computer it just sits at restorer.

I just sent a text when suddenly my 8gb unlocked iPhone (1.0.2) hanged.

Naturally I pressed the power and home button together for some 10 seconds and the iPhone restarted but what appeared on the screen was zebra stripes. I already restarted it a number of times to no avail.

The black and white lines are there blinking all the time alternately with the apple logo.

I'd be most grateful if anyone could help me.

I have been searching for hours, but I haven't seen anyone with this problem. I am trying to get to where i can use conceited s/w's 1.1.2 jailbreak, and I appsnapp'd 1.1.1 but now when i go to install OktoPrep, it downloads, and starts the install, but then stops with the following:

and I don't know where I stand. Has anyone seen or heard of this and/or what i can do to patch up the problem? I have seen reasons enumerated in other threads of general better performance but for those of you who have upgraded to 1.1.2, is there a real reason to do so. I am in the states and using Cingular so I don't have any international needs and my voicemail works fine. From what I can tell, I can expect a couple of my applications NOT to work in 1.1.2. I don't believe there are any applications that exclusively work in 1.1.2 either. So, can anybody give me a real reason to upgrade.

Struggling with 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 after needed restore

I ran into some issues with my unlocked iPhone running on 1.1.1 where a restore was required. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention a few days ago when Software Update ran, it downloaded the iPhone 1.1.2 update. I didn't install it to the phone at the time knowing that it'd brick my iPhone without going through the proper upgrade routine, but when I had to restore my iPod, I just clicked restore, which then locked my iPod asking me to register with AT&T (I had it unlocked for use on T-Mobile).

Now, after hours in front of the computer today I haven't been able to properly downgrade back to 1.1.1. I get 1015 errors after a restore, which I understand are normal, but unlike everyone else, I'm not able to kick the iPhone out of restore mode (following the 1015 error) by running INdependence � so I'm stuck.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to "virginize" the iPhone to 1.1.1 status? I'm okay starting from scratch, I just need to get past the restore screen I've gotten stuck on several times. There's no need for me to be running 1.1.2, I'll gladly go back to my phone's factory default of 1.1.1. Any help would be fantastic.

Help SSH not working after upgrade to 1.1.2

Well I upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 using Octoprep and the Jailbreak tools described in the Guide. Everything worked great, and I now have jailbroken 1.1.2 phone with Installer installed and all my 3rd party apps.

Then today I tried using WinSCP via OpenSSH to access the phone as I always have. No go. I get network closed unexpectedly error.

I checked to be sure OpenSSH was installed. It showed as installed in Installer. I then uninstalled and reinstalled it to be sure. Same error.

I installed iToggle and tried to turn on OpenSSH that way. It would say it was on, but when I go out of iToggle and back in again it shows that OpenSSH is not on.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm 99% sure this is an issue with OpenSSH, but since a reinstall did not help I'm not sure what to do next.

i unlocked my phone in 1.1.1 using anysim 1.2, i installed oktoprep and then upgraded to 1.1.2...followed a tutorial all the way, and at the end my at&t sim finally worked after 2 days of a useless phone...i was happy i got it to work, but when i installed my VODAFONE ROMANIA sim card (which i have roaming, therefore i should at least have signal), i get the following error message:

THERE IS NO CARRIER THAT SUPPORTS THE INSTALLED SIM CARD IN THE IPHONE, PLEASE DISCONNECT AND INSERT A VALID SIM CARD IN THE IPHONE

someone told me that it should work once i use the SIM in romania for the holidays, i only get this error b/c im currently in the united states. is that the case, or my phone isnt really unlocked? i wish i had a t-mobile card to test it out if its indeed unlocked, but all i have is my vodafone sim

Ok I am a noob so I appreciate any advice.

First: Is the warranty voided when you jailbreak your iphone? If so, what does voiding incur? Does that mean that I cannot upload to newer firmwares in the future? Does that mean that if my battery dies or goes dead that I cannot send it back to apple and I am SOL? so the moral to that would be dont let your phone die. Can I restore my warranty at a later time or once it has been jailbroken, am I done?

Second: Does iDemocracy have to do with jailbreaking? how? OTB, my phone was v1.1.1 so I did the upgrade last week to v1.1.2. Which jailbreaking guide would be the best for me? I have read through the forums and it gets confusing with all the guides and info.

Running out of disc space after 1.1.2 update

I keep getting a message saying Im running out of disc space, please delete photo's and such.

Did a search and all I can find is how to fix the itunes 300MB issue.

This is the condition of my phone.

1.1.1 Jailbroken (not unlocked)
installed 'oktoprep'
updated to 1.1.2 via itunes
ran window.bat (idemocracy's 1.1.2 jailbreak)
Now I have a jailbroken 1.1.2 with my apps running but get almost out of disc space.

Do I have to go in and manually delete folders not being used now from the 1.1.1 or is this just a bug?

UPDATE - MY IPHONE IS NOW JAILBROKEN, ACTIVATED AND UNLOCKED ON THE 02 NETWORK.

Hi, Just got home. looking at it now. Just looked at my firmware and I have 1.0.2 installed so need to restore to 1.1.1 first.

Will let you know within the next hour. I will keep updating this post with updates on my progress.

Note - Before I proceeded to any of this below I done the following:

1- I updated to 1.1.2 to get the new baseband.
2 - I downgraded to 1.1.1
3 - I downgraded to 1.0.2 and used jailbreakme.com method to jailbreak phone and then installed BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH and then ftp to iPhone using winSCP.
4 - Uploaded anysim 1.2 to applications on my iphone and changed permissions of the exe file in the folder to 775. (If you have already completed this before but still can't get your iPhone working then still downgrade to 1.0.2 before proceeding to my steps below). note - make sure anysim 1.2 folder is named anySIM.app with SIM in caps lock.

PROGRESSS = COMPLETE. Hope this helps others.

1 - 9.47am - Currently downloading the 1.1.1 firmware from the link provided above (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw)

2 - 10.00am - Download complete. Put my phone into restore mode and holded shift down on my keyboard and clicked the RESTORE button in itunes. Now waiting for the phone to restore to 1.1.1, time for a cup of tea and a cig.

3 - 10.10am Restore complete, error 1015 appeared in itunes. Closed itunes and opened ibrickr, tried to boot the phone with ibrickr and got a green background. Ohwell now trying to restore firmware 1.1.1 again, this seems to happen to me sometimes.

4 - 10.16am Restore attempt 2 complete with error 1015 in itunes again. Closed itunes and booted phone in ibrickr, got red screen this time.

5 - 10.19am Tried to jailbreak 1.1.1 firmware by adding prefs://11 and http://jailbreakme.com in URL for contact. Turned on wifi. Then opened the jailbreakme.com website and clicked appsnap. Website dissapears and the Activate iPhone re-appears. Nothing happening yet?.

6 - 10.23am Waited 4 minutes for jailbreakme.com to work, nothing happened. Went back on the jailbreakme.com website again and looked at the FAQ for about 1 minute. Then closed out all jailbreakme.com tabs, by clicking the icon bottom right corner of safari.

7 - 10.29am Back to activation screen, opened jailbreakme.com website. Run appsnap again and after 3 minutes the phone rebooted. Now the phone is unlocked. Totally crazy as this has never worked for me before.

8 - 10.35am Now installing BSD Subsystem from the installer program (heard somewhere that its a good idea). so might aswell install that first.

9 - 10.40am BSD Subsystem installation complete. Now installing OktoPrep from the installer program.

10 - 10.42am Restarting phone just to make sure of things.

11 - 10.44am Phone now displaying correctly in iTunes and allowing me to setup the phone in itunes. Selected setup a new phone and clicked continue in itunes, then unticked automatically sync with contacts etc etc etc. Then clicked the DONE button.

12 - 10.47am Clicked the UPDATE button in itunes. Now waiting for my iPhone to update to 1.1.2.

13 - 10.52am UPDATE complete, now I see the slide for emergency with the itunes logo. hmmm

14 - 10.55am whoa got worried for a second then, thought it hadn't worked but just remembered need to run windows.bat. Ok now extracting files from the zip file named 1.1.2-jailbreak-UPDATED

15 - 10.56am Opened windows.bat from the extracted files and clicked the jailbreakme button. Now waiting to see what happens.

16 - 11.10am windows.bat has now finished jailbreaking. Its asking me to restart so I will restart

17 - 11.15am Restarted iphone and the phone is now automatically rebooting.

SUCCESS the iPhone has now rebooted as is succesfully running 1.1.2. Woohooo at last I have done it. Looks like I don't need to use iWorld as my 02 network is showing and sms messages are appearing. I tried a test call to my home phone and all seems to be working fine. I am from the UK so must be an apple approved country

Ok, here is where I am sitting.

I have a MAC w/ OSX 10.5
iPhone w/ 1.1.2
iTunes 7.5

I cannot do the downgrade due to having iTunes 7.5 (iNdependence does not work with 7.5, only 7.4 and below)

Can someone explain the best way for me to move to 1.1.1 then I can finish the steps.

FYI, I tried all the way to the iNdependance step, and was stopped there. I am not an idiot, but I am also not an overly expierenced MAC user. I have used PCs for most of my life until about 6 months ago.

If there is a way to downgrade itunes w/o causing issues, I am up for that, but where would I get v7.4?

:confused: Sooo...I have an iPhone (originally version 1.1.1. but got it downgraded to 1.0.2 and unlocked) and I have been hearing about all these new upgrades/jailbreaks/3rd party apps/etc that allow for the full use/experience of the iPhone...I don't know too much about computers and hacking and all that stuff so I was wondering if someone could help me out a bit by giving me some suggestions with what I could/should do with my phone...are there easier ways to mod the iPhone for us not so computer/technology savvy users? (i.e. point, click and save) the last thing I want to do is mess up my phone and end up with an expensive paper weight...thanks :)

Now the Iphone just keeps going through a cycle of text scrolling down the screen, then to the apple logo and starts scrolling text again. Cannot connect it to anything because it isnt recognized through the USB anymore, have tried turning it off and on and rebooting it but it just keeps doing this. Have I stuffed it completly??

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ITUNES VERSION 7.4.2 TO DO THIS

If you currently run 1.1.1 firmware you can completely skip step 1

1: Downgrading from 1.1.2 firmware to 1.1.1:
download the firmware 1.1.1 from this link and save it to your desktop.

to apply the firmware, connect your iphone/ipod to itunes. once it shows up, hold the shift key down while you click "update". dont let go of shift untill a box comes up that lets you find a firmware in your computer. locate where you downloaded it to and select that. your iphone/ipod will now go through the updating process and once finished, you will get an error saying the update was unsucessful for an unknown reason, thats normal just ignore it and look at your iphone. it wants you to connect to itunes but ignore that too. to get it out of this stuck mode leave your iphone connected and open iBrickr

it will say your iphone is in recovery mode and ask you if you want to boot it click that and your iphone screen will go red, this is normal just wait. eventually your phone will unlock and be just normal. you have just downgraded your iphone!!!

2: Reactivation:

to reactivate your phone, you need to jailbreak it first. using safari on your phone, connect to a WIFI connection and visit this website "www.jailbreakme.com" tap "install appsnap" and it will install and your phone is now jailbroken. when you look at your springboard you will have an icon called installer, tap that and go straight to install and find the category called "tweaks 1.1.1" and tap on "OkToPrep" install it by tapping install on the top right and you will get a message saying you can now update to 1.1.2.

connect to itunes and click check for updates normally and let it update to 1.1.2 as you would normally and when your done your phone will be 1.1.2 and activated again.

3: Jailbreaking 1.1.2:
to complete the jailbreak on 1.1.2 visit this website: http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

download that and it unzip all the files onto your desktop. press control+alt+delete and click the processes tab to view all processes. close all processes that have to do with itunes. now, open the one called "windows" and it will have a button to click that says "Jailbreak!" click that and it will do the work for you. this can take a few minutes, so be patient. at the end it will automatically restart your phone and then your done, you now have a fully jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone.

no matter what I try and do since the first time I downgraded from my original out of box state i can't for the life of me restore back to the 1.1.1 it came with. iTunes alwas fails with a 1013 error and then boots the phone to a screen showing the data cable wanting to connect to the iTunes logo. With ibrkr I can downgrade back to 1.0.2 but the baseband is still at 4.02.13_G (so im not sure if that means the original firmware was 1.1.2 or 1.1.1). I ran the terminal commands after uploading all the proper files in instructed directorys, but the firmware remains the same.

If someone can please help me out with this I would be greatly thankful. My mother is in the hospital with cancer and I have no way to get in contact with her at the moment and recently lost my Moto Rizr, but still have sim card(t-mobile america). There isn't much time left and I can't afford those expensive simUnlock sites nor do I have a credit card.

Drakenza and team.....excellent work. One simple question....do i need to have the non ATT Sim in the phone at the beginning of the idemocracy process? At the moment i only have the original sim. If i follow the process to use idemocracy (ive already successfully taken my out of the box 1.0.0 (yep its old) and restored to 1.1.1) with the orginal sim in it will i be able to at least use the iphone like an itouch for now? If so and want to use it on a nonATT carrier LATER....do i have to repeat idemocracy or will that not work?
Either i use idemocracy without a nonATT sim now (im anxious) or wait to get the nonATT sim but later. Love to know if i can do the process now for itouch functionality, and then later use idemocracy when i have the other sim.

I currently have a 1.1.2 iPhone that is jailbroken using jailbreakme.com. It works perfectly. If I download and install iDemocracy, will I be able to just use it as a file browser as well as all the other cool features like ringtones and such? or do I have to downgrade my iPhone, then rejailbreak it?

I am hoping All I need to do is just run it and it will work. I have been trying to read up on this but haven't really found the answer.

Hello everyone...
I need serious help with my iPhone. I have been using a V1.0.2 iPhone unlocked with Anysim for 2 months now. I have read numerous tutorials on how to upgrade to V.1.1.1 and was hoping for some help.

I first "virginised" my baseband to the original baseband successfully. Then I restored my iPhone to V.1.0.2 successfully. I then activated the iphone (Using iBrickr and lockdown file hack) and read the message that I had an incorrect sim, so all was good, confirming the virgin state baseband.

Following that I try to Restore my iPhone to V.1.1.1 using iTunes and "Shift+Restore" method and selecting iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw or the V.1.1.1 firmware. When I do this the package unpacks and the iPhone reboots with the apple logo and the moving circular bars as though it is about to Restore. 7 seconds following that the Restore stops with the following message - "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)" What is error 1 !!!?!???

Next I tried to restore with the DFU method. When running the Restore via the DFU method the iPhone gets detected as an iPod Touch!!!!! Again I tried to restore it using the "Shift+Restore" method and selecting iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw or the V.1.1.1 firmware. Then with no wait I immediately get the error "The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4)" What is error 4 and why is it seeing it as an iPod Touch!!!?!???

I tried the above methods 12 times with no luck! :mad::mad::mad:
Now I have just restored back to V.1.0.2 aand the iPhone restores and works fine (After re installing and running anysim 1.0.2), but I really want V.1.1.1, and iTunes wont let me load this!

My one suspicion is that I am using an older version of iTunes (I am using iTunes Version 7.4.0.28 on an XP machine). Can people please confirm what version I should be using to restore the iPhone with V.1.1.1 and whether that's what causing the crash / errors - or suggest definite working versions of iTunes used for the V.1.1.1 restore?

PLEASE HELP ME. I have been wasting sleepless nights trying to figure this out and finally found your forums. I hope someone can help me with my issue.

and after upgrading to 1.1.2 my iPhone seems to have locked and I can only make emergency calls now. Can someone please tell me how I can activate the phone as the sim I am using in not At & T and is local provider in India.

I tried the *#307# method to activate, but when I press the Call button, the phone goes into wait mode and finally shows the emergency button again.

Also there is a message "Incorrect Sim. This iPhone must be used with an approved SIM".

I installed AnySim 1.2 using WinSCP and on running the application, it showed a message "Copying firmware..." and after say 10 minutes got rebooted automatically and now comes with an apple logo and a waiting icon on it which stays there. I am not even getting access to the homepage.

Please help me resolve this.

Hi guys! after installing safari plugin xpl (i think its called xpl) my iphone seems to have software/apps conflict. it turns on and off - reboots - in an endless loop. i cant turn it off.

i think the problem is with the installer and the "open source one safari plugin for apps". i cant resett (10 seks main button and topbutton)

my iphone is loggin in then it freezes and after a few seconds it reboots.

I do have following problem:

Upgraded, jailbroken and unlocked 1.1.2 iphone

everything is working - I can get in the internet through edge, I do get sms messages and I can write sms messages

The only thing which is not working is my phone.app.

I can dial a number and press call but everytime I do it, iphone says "Call Failed
and Call Ended" then I loose signal strength for 2-3 seconds then signal comes
back (the signal thing happens when I'm receiving a call too --> but phone is not
ringing).

I tried already setting the time and date automatic to off
and sending the caller id to on and off as advised in another thread, nothing has helped so far.

Please guys, is there someone out there with the same problem who already solved it.

BTW I'm from Austria and using A1 as carrier

Know when i try to downgrade to either vr. 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 it drowngrade and it says activation my take some time and it just never ends so bottom line is, its back to the old firmware but i cant use the internet or phone but when i go back to 1.1.2 it works fine again......so help me someone please i really need some of those 3rd party apps......:(

My phone was working perfectly on 1.0.2 and after I updated to 1.1.1 it started to crash relatively frequently. I would not have thought too much of it if it were 3rd party apps crashing, but it is email, safari, sms etc. Still this did not really trouble me I just figured i would do a restore before I updated to the next firmware and this would solve my issue.

When updating to 1.1.2 I did a restore and the installed 1.1.1 and then upgraded to 1.1.2 and it is still crashing. I am wondering what other options I have.

Is there anything else on the phone I can set back to default that is not handled in a restore? The baseboard perhaps? Is it possible that could do anything for me?

I have still yet to try just going to the 1.1.2 firmware and not jailbreaking, although I don't know how i can survive without the ebook reader, it will be a good experiment.

Downgrading from 1.1.2 ... (jailbreakme fails)

I bymistake upgraded to 1.1.2 and now i regret that decision ... (alot). =]

My phone has never been jailbroken / activated / etc and i am an at & t customer.

I downgraded the firmware from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 using the restore option.

Next i used AppSnap to get it out of the "Connect to iTunes screen" so that I could use the phone. One problem though... apparently the basebands are different from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 (or so i've read).

So I cannot get service or any signal (0 bars or 'No Service'). On a restore to 1.1.2 I can get service so I know it is a 1.1.1 issue. Anywho, I decided to access wifi so that i could jailbreak it.

i visited http://jailbreakme.com and then did the .tiff exploit and the installer however did not appear (which is a bummer).

Is the tiff exploit patched when reverting to 1.1.1 from 1.1.2? Did I do something wrong?

I am using iTunes 7.5 as in this whole wonderful wide world of the web i cannot find a link to either 7.42 or an earlier acceptable one. :rolleyes: This might be the problem?

For now I am stuck on 1.1.2 :(

I had an unlocked 1.0.2 phone that I was using on tmobile and the edge network. I finally decided to update to 1.1.1 using this guide:

The vigininzing part went fine
but when I tried using Independance to do the activation and jailbrake, it almost finishes, but then it says that the program quit unexpectadly and goes into restore mode.
Same thing with AppTapp and iActivator

so i kept restoring every time

but now I when I restore it goes through the whole process in intunes, but when my iphone restarts
the screen is just black and codes flash by quickly,
I keep trying to restore again and all I get is code...

Does anyone know what went wrong?
I just need to restore get it back to normal

when i launch the jailbreak application, at first everything goes well
then i pressed the home and off buttons for 25s
once i see the icons asking me to connect to itunes, i release it
Then it gets stuck on this screen:

I recently upgraded my unlocked iPhone from Firmware 1.1.1 to 1.1.2
(It was originally a purchased 1.1.1, downgraded to 1.0.2 in order to upgrade to 1.1.1 and Jailbreak, Activate and Unlock)
The iPhone was working perfectly and I stupidly upgrade to 1.1.2 and used jailbreak.jar to unlock the phone. This worked for the most part but Text and Phone Keypad Applications crash as soon as they are opened now, also phone will not ring when call comes in it just shows the spinning circle you see when the phone is updating such as when something is changed in Customise. Can anyone help please, am I the only one this has happened to?
Sorry for long post but wanted to give as mush information as possible.

Holy Cow!! I used this guide to move my apps to my media section when i was on 1.1.1. But i removed it using the instructions on the bottom of the page...

Now, when i go into App, it brings me to the var/root/ROOT_Applications /Applications. I cant find the Applications menu anywhere which holds the native iphone appz. I am using Revan's guide on upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 and after I restored 1.1.1, I cant go into my application folder using WINscp. iBrickr however allows me to go inside Applications and view them. But i cant chmod AnySIM to 0755 using iBrickr. Please help me!

This is the console on WinSCP. I did the commands to remove it.

/$ cp -R /var/root/ROOT_Applications /Applications

Oh wow. The Application folder is there. I calculated the space. It was close to 10mb occupied. But when I opened it, there is nothing there coz it directs me to var/root/ROOT_Applications /Applications

So I did a small test and copied the application folder to my PC. All the applications were in there. So, I just got to remove the link to var/root/ROOT_Applications /Applications and it should work fine. Anyone knows the command for this?

So I updated my working 1.1.1 T-Mobilefied iPhone the other day and have spent many an hour trying to get it back to good. For some reason could not get my 1.0.2 restore to stick after several trips up and down the upgrade ladder.

I got my new iMac in today and thought I'd give it a go with an Intel machine. Well i didn't get far before Independency 1.2.5 gave out on me, so for giggles I went back to my ppc machine and low and behold Independency worked for me. Worked in that I was at least able to jailbreak and activate. Then something weird happened, T-Mobile popped up in the bar. I hadn't installed anySIM or anything like that in the past 30 or so restores.

So currently I am running 1.0.2 (1C28) with Modem Firmware 04.02.13_G . I am able to connect to Edge (need to write the plist file to fix in the info still) able to make and receive calls using my T-Mo sim. Still need to fix youTube, no iTunes store, but neither are make or break deals especially from the iPod touch status where it was. I even had to charge up my BB pearl to use while the radio was out, imagine my shame.

In my ladder restore travels I had been able to jailbreak and activate under 1.1.1, but could never get any T-Mobile response. I thought for sure I had to get to 1.0.2, downgrade the modem fw and then work my way back up to 1.1.1. But now that I am here, and got rid of the 300MB size issue, I think I'll stay for awhile.

So basically there is hope for those who've bricked. I even got my iPhone to cycle into and out of what looked to be a never ending kernel panic with it starting displaying white text on a black background an rebooting itself until finally forcing it to shut down and just sit for awhile.

Hello all,

I would like to thank you in advance for trying to help me out with this. When I got my iPhone, I installed installer.app in early September after Apple released the 1.0.2 firmware for the iPhone. I'm assuming that my iPhone was jailbroken during the process of installing the installer.app. I've not updated to a newer version of the firmware out of fear of bricking my iPhone. But now I'd like to get updated to the latest version of firmware and I've taken the past hour or so to look over the forums to figure it out but I think I'm more confused that before.

More info... This is a US phone with AT&T running firmware verion 1.0.2 (1C28). The SIMM card is NOT unlocked as I'm not even remotely interested in doing that.

I've read several topics about "virginizing" the iPhone in order to perform the upgrade, but I'm not exactly sure what to do and where to go from here.

If anyone can provide me with instructions for safely updating my iPhone from a jailbroken 1.0.2, I would greatly appreciate the help.

OK. I have ONE big question that I can't seem to find the answer to..

I am in the UK with a valid O2 iphone contract and activated iphone.

I want to jailbreak it only to get the installer app on. I am familiar with

how to go about this..

After this process, will I get Visual Voicemail to work as is... If not, why not??? Also will the Edge settings already be in the phone for the UK?

Anyone out there been in my situation and tried all this? What happened...

All I seem to find are posts by people unlocking in the Uk and saying they have voicemail afterwards not visual voice mail - but where they on valid contracts to begin with??

I just want to get third party apps on the iphone - not interested in unlocking it as I am on a contract anyway..

Is part of the problem 1.1.1 was never realeased in the UK so when you put that on its essentially a bit messed up (USA Firmware?)..

Bit confused here.... Not many people in the UK seem to be commenting on this yet... Welcome all replies thanks.......

I see there are multiple different guides around the site explaining how to do this. I want to use the easiest method possible. also, im using a legit ATT sim card so there wasnt any unlocking done. the only thing that i have on my phone is the jailbreak and some apps. i just want a fresh 1.1.1because my iphone is getting kind of buggy lately and apps keep crashing.

can i just click the restore button in itunes? or will that brick my iphone because i have 3rd party apps and stuff on it?

Im hoping you guys can help me out sometime soon because its hard use my phone normally without slow speeds and crashes. I even uninstalled almost all of my applications but if anything, it feels like it has made things worse.

nvm i figured it out. i just got impatient and clicked the restore button and everything worked out.

common though, 46 views and not 1 person could just say: "your fine, just click the restore to 1.1.1 and it will reset your phone to factory." ?

i need a hand ppl, i just installed one of the pxl things (i think it was the one that lets u manage them) and the shortcut to mockdock.com and idk which 1 did it but my itouch (not iphone) is hella laggy, and when i try 2 launch anyhting like the installer app 2 uninstall it or any other app, it lasts 4 like 5 secs then does the loading animation in the middle and resets to the main screen. even if i put it in sleep itll reload the main launcher. and since it crashes whenever i launch anything, it wont even last long enough to be recognized by itunes so i can restore it!!! :(:mad::(:mad::(:mad:
can some 1 help me plz!?!?!?!?
PS. i cant turn on wifi so i cant use the ssh thing to explore my files

Accidentally upgraded to 1.1.2? Here's a free solution!

This tutorial written up for iPhoneUnlockAustralia. It may NOT be copied or redistributed.

Please read:

This tutorial is for the Windows Operating System ONLY.

This tutorial is for iPhones on 1.1.2 that were upgraded ONLY. This is not suitable for brand new iPhones on 1.1.2

Ready? Let's go.

Download the pack below:

Start by plugging your iPhone into iTunes in restore mode (hold home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds, then release the sleep button)

iTunes will recognise it right away. You will see a restore button. Hold shift and click restore. Navigate to your 1.1.1 firmware file.

Let it restore and eventually you will get a "Unknown error occurred" (1015). Now you have a 1.1.1 iPhone with the 1.1.2 modem firmware.

Now you need to enter DFU mode. Best solution is to use iBrickr. You have to hold home and sleep buttons and when the screen turns black let go of sleep and keep holding home. iTunes will recognisze this and you will shift+click restore and navigate to 1.0.2 firmware files. Let it restore and you will get a "Unknown error occurred" (1013) and the yellow triange should pop up.

Now click wiNstallerGUI from the package downloaded above. Click activate and it should activate the phone as well as jailbreak it. Then hit install application and navigate to the installer.app folder inside the first wiNstaller folder in the downloaded pack. You should now have a 1.0.2 phone still with the 1.1.2 modem firmware but is now activated, jailbroken, and you have installer installed.

Tap installer and update it. Install Community Sources, than BSD Subsystem, and than OpenSSH. Install WinSCP and click it. Connect to the internet on your iphone through Wi-Fi and than click the blue arrow next to it and write down the IP. In WinSCP for the host name type in your IP for username type root and for password type dottie. Change file protocal to SCP.

Navigate to /usr/bin which is in the root of the phone which looks like this: /

Transfer all the files in the Baseband folder into /usr/bin

Close WinSCP and open putty. Type in your IP again into hostname and click ok. Type in root and the when it asks for the password type dottie (you wont see the letters when you type, but I assure you, you are typing.)

Type this into putty and hit enter after each line. Capitals matter.

launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

cd /usr/bin

chmod +x ieraser

chmod +x bbupdater

ieraser

bbupdater -v

bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep

After a 2-3 minute wait it should be done. Now type:

bbupdater -v

It should show 3.14_08

Now restore to 1.0.2 (just a refresh to get rid of unwanted files)
Then restore to 1.1.1 and continue on with the jailbreak unlock process. (Search for it yourself, or we can do it for you)

Woo hoo! You now have a 1.1.1 iPhone, downgraded from the accidental 1.1.2 upgrade - easy wasn't it?

I found this information and here it is for every one who needs it. It worked great for me.

I just recently updated and tried to put files in my iphone with 1.1.1 like addressbook files, a backup files from 1.0.2 to restore all my contacts. Now I can't access it with the same username/password on 1.1.1 fw iphone. Could anyone help me?:)

Guys, please help..

So I been running on 1.0.2 for like 2 months since I got the iphone.. Jailbreak and unlock witn anysim.

Anyway. Today I saw that Democracy 2.01 was release and the virgnize was build in. so I give it at try..

Download and install everything.. run the virginize.. it goes through all the stuff and when it gets to the end to where it stated: This stage you must plug in ur power to make sure the phone doesn't shut down etc..

1) yes, continue
2) no..

I press 1.. nothing.. just stays there.. I tried again 1 then enter.. nothing..

I finally just did Ctr+C -- is this bad?
I didn't know if it was complete or not.. anyway. I run it again and it went through all the processes and stop at the same place.. I tried to use the phone and there was no service or nothing (this is ok b/c of the reset right)?

So I tried it a few more time.. now these last time it just jump straight to the end and give me that prompt.. I read some stuff on forum and it said it's ok. So I went into itunes -- shift + restore and load in the 1.1.1. Then I get the screen that said please connect to itunes.. I search more and forums said this was ok.. Now I can try to jail break it and it said it was ok.. But now my iphone is stuck in the please connect to itunes.. :-(

OK -- I use ibrick and reboot the phone. I can get back in now. I check and my firmware is still 1.0.2(1C28)

But that's about it.. I can't make phone call. Music play won't play on the speakers.. nothing ..

please help..

Before we begin, download the following:

Phase 1 :: Checking your bootloader version
For those of you who have owned an iPhone prior to November 9th, then you can skip this step. If you don't otherwise know any better, you might want to verify what bootloader you have on your iPhone right now.

First you will need to have bbupdater installed in your /usr/bin folder. I will not provide this file. Google for it, or check the usual forums. Use the Terminal to login to the iPhone via SSH. Enter the following commands:

Your results better match those below as far as the bootloader is concerned. If they don't, then DO NOT proceed!

Phase 2 :: Upgrade 1.1.1 to 1.1.2

Restore the iPhone to 1.1.2 firmware by putting the iPhone into DFU mode. Do this by pressing and holding the Home button, and the Sleep/Wake button.
As soon as the screen goes black, let go of the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button. Connect the iPhone to iTunes and you will get this pop up. The iPhone will display this graphic.
Click the SHIFT + Restore button or on a Mac (your keyboard key) and point it towards the 1.1.2 firmware you downloaded.
Various messages will appear while the process continues.
The iPhone will restart, and iTunes will display this image.
The iPhone will display the new multi-lingual emergency slider and connect to iTunes graphic. You are now on 1.1.2 firmware with the new 04.02.13_G modem firmware.

Phase 3 :: Downgrade back to 1.1.1

Downgrade to 1.1.1 firmware. You need to put the iPhone into DFU mode again. The restore should, go through and errors at the end with error 1015. However you will notice that the iphone is in DFU mode with the connect to itunes screen from 1.1.1.
Download a working copy of iPhuc and issue the following commands:
cmd setenv auto-boot true
cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot

Jailbreak by following the below method:

On the Activation Screen, slide the Emergency Screen.
Type *#307# and hit Call, the phone will start ringing and display 1 Calling.
Delete all the numbers from the top right of the screen and Call the number 0.
Press Answer, Hold and then Decline.
Go to Contacts and create a contact. In the Url field type prefs://1f and save it. Then add another URL and type jailbreakme.com and save it.
Click on the prefs://1f and you can select your WiFi network. Exit by pressing home and then Dial and Call the number 0 from the emergency screen.
Select the second URL called jailbreakme.com of the contact you created and and follow the Install AppSnapp. Wait for it to finish and reboot the phone when its done.

Unlock using anySIM1.2.1u

Run Installer and install BSD Subsystem & OpenSSH
Extract the anySIM.app folder from anySIM1.2.1u.zip onto a folder.
Download WinSCP
Check the IP issued by your WiFi for your phone, it should something like 192.168.xx.xx
Run WinSCP and enter the IP as asked above, and put the username: root & password: alpine
Wait for 30-35 secs and you will be asked to add a host key (big dialog box) say Yes
After login into your phone, goto root -> Applications and copy the anySIM.app folder there and chmod all the files inside the anySIM.app folder to 0755 (by selecting all files and click on Properties)
PowerOff your phone and put the original AT&T SIM
PowerOn & now you will find the anySIM icon on your SpringBoard. Goto Settings > General > Auto-lock change it to Never.
Run anySIM
After it shows the "Successfully unlocked message".
Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update

(I). Launch Installer.app
(II). Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)
(III). Select OktoPrep
(IV). Click Install

Phase 4 :: Upgrade to 1.1.2 - Thanks callx
What you'll need:

iTunes 7.5
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) v1.6 (update 3)
WinSCP
1.1.2 Jailbreak

Extra tools for the optional steps:

Connect your phone to iTunes.
Do either Download & Install or press SHIFT + Update button and point it to the v1.1.2 firmware you downloaded manually.
Jailbreak 1.1.2
- So, right now you should have a nice 1.1.2 activate screen talking in tongues. As a rule of thumb, just open iTunes and let it detect the iPhone then close it.
- Now run windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak and check option Install ssh, change password if needed and click Jailbreak
- Might take like 5-10 mins, more coffee maybe?
Carrier settings *optional* (For those who wanna sexy up that iphone ;))
- Winscp to your phone and put ls and bash in /bin
- Click on "more", set both permissions to 0755
- Check here for your carrier's MCC and MNC (it's not as hard as it sounds)
e.g MCC = 334 MNC = 02, the number we'll need is 33402
- Open the Telcel.plist in UltraEdit or wordpad and modify accordingly (Don't forget to rename your .plist file & change the supported sim section)
- Use winscp to put the modified .plist to /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/
- Open putty and connect to your phone
- Type bash at the prompt
- Type cd /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support
- Type ln -s NUMBER YOURCARRIER.plist
e.g ln -s 33402 Telcel.plist
- Remove your sim and put some other sim in it to reset the carrier settings(maybe that unactivated att simcard lying around? :D)
- Remove the sim card and put back in yours after the phone detected it
- You should be set, no reboot needed :)

Fix for crashing phone/sms *optional*
- In Installer, look under Tweaks v1.1.2
- Install iWorld select your country from the list and its done :-)

I have periodically checking the forums and what not since this site started. I ran the original Easy Unlock (osx) guide (the one that took like 35 min) and unlocked my iphone to use on T-mobile. Everything is great, but after reading some of the benfits of the newer firmware (improved battery life and quicker phone), I would like to upgrade. I assumed that there would be just an addition to that guide, but I haven't seen anything. I was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to where to "virginize" or what steps I should take to get on the newest firmware? I figured explaining that I used the Easy unlock (osx) guide would help as far as explaining what apps I used to do it and where the status of my phone. Thanks so much for your help. Love the forums and really appreciate what you guys are doing.

Crash problem in 1.1.2

Hi guys:
well after waiting for a IPSF to release their guide to update to 1.1.2 I finally decided to go trough with it.
Everything went smooth in the process...but now I discovered a terrible problem that as soon as I tried to make the first call appeared..

My Phone is crashing constantly in "Favorites", "Recent" and "Keypad" screens...
If you go from desktop to any of this screens they display normally but as soon as you select a contact or input a number it crashes to desktop...
It also crashes while going to or from any of this screens.
The bluetooth displays as ON in the desktop but as soon as I try to make a call the crash cuts it out...
The crash does not cut the call..if im in bluetooth it sends it automatically to my speaker and I can talk clearly.
I really need your help guys I have a business trip coming this week and I need the phone to work..thanks in advance

Hi all,

After I upgraded to 1.1.2 and locked the phone, I managed to get from 1.1.2 -> 1.1.1 -> 1.0.2 (baseband 03.xx) -> 1.1.1 (baseband 04.01.13_G) -> Jailbreak and unlocked.
Took a while and a few goes but it worked all functionality seems to be for a 1.1.1 phone riding Orange in UK, but now the phone seems stuck somewhere between 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 (even though all the "About" info points to 1.1.1) and no 3rd-party software installs if they are looking for either 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 !??

Anybody else had this problem? All I want to do is get Summerboard back on but neither of the versions allow me to install due to firmware mismatch :-)

I had the jailbreak installer on my phone running 1.1.1, but icons such as customize and system settings randomly disappeared from my springboard. In somewhat of a "panic", I decided to restore my phone figuring I could simply reload the installer. In the process of restoring, my phone also updated the firmware and the download link at jailbreakme.com results in a blue question mark. I'm assuming that is due to the new firmware. Is there any word on when a new installer will be available for 1.12.2 phones?

Someone told me i could restore WI.FI by updating to 1.1.2.
So i updated to 1.1.2. Wi.Fi doesnt work anyway and the phone is still SIM locked. I still have "NO WI-FI" in the setttings panel..

OK! got it working guys.. basically had to play with the proxy file. Now everything is fully functional on my iphone unlocked with 1.1.2 update. Very smooth and you can switching screens is a lot quicker I highly recommend this update.

title says it pretty much,

i finally got 1.1.1 working on my phone after being forced to upgrade to 1.1.2 and not running oktoprep.

i jailbroke 1.1.1, installed oktoprep

upgraded to 1.1.2

now i try using idemocracy and just the jailbreak software alone, when it runs it tells me, " This utility can only be used if you have already run oktoprep before updating to 1.1.2" i click okay and jailbreak has failed.

i looked in iphonebrowser, and it has a touchFree folder on it.

i'm running a AMD (actually its a sempron) windows XP machine, if it has anything to do with it.

someone please help!
