NONE of the 3rd party apps (including Installer & Cydia) are 2.0 compatible at this time.

DFU Restore Mode:
1. Boot phone 2. Hold Power + Home until the screen goes BLACK 3. Continue to hold home and let go of power 4. Plug into iTunes (screen should still be BLACK) 5. Within 20 seconds it should come up in recovery mode 6. Let go of Home and hit RESTORE in iTunes.

I think what he means was....his phone was jailbroken and while it was still jailbroken he did the update. Thats what i did, and it worked fine. Im guessing Doerrfan was thinking he had to do a clean restore first be fore updating, but thats not the case

Okay, to clarify.
I jailbroke with ZiPhone, restored to iLiberty. JUST JAILBREAK.
Then restored beforehand, went to 2.0 and EVERYTHING WORKS FINE.

:MirrorminD:

please explain in detail what you had before and what you did in sequence to get to the state you are now.

For example:

BEFORE
1.1.4 Ziphoned jailbroken/unlocked/activated, working 100%
I was 3.9 (or 4.6 or whatever you were) Bootloader

WHAT I DID
1. Update through itunes 7.7 to the latest 1.2 firmware I downloaded from APPLE
2. Run Ziphone (which version) to DO IT ALL

CURRENT STATE
Working ??? 100%? or 0%???

this way it will be more clear for others to follow...

^^ So what you're saying is that you jailbroke with ziphone, then restored and jailbroke with iliberty, then restored and updated to 2.0 and the installer was there?

Hey, so what's the process for adding the firmware on a mac? I'm having no luck...

Do I need to wipe the phone clean first, ie: no jailbrake?
Use itunes 7.6 or 7.7?

You will need to wait for dev team and pwn 2.0 as a straight upgrade may be a one-way street. Understand that there is a difference between pwning 2.0 and updating to 2.0. Your pwning would start in 1.1.4.

Using common download procedures, DFU mode results in error 1600 and restore mode in error 20. No downgrade occuring.

Once you upgrade there may be no going back (for now)... so be careful.
That is not entirely accurate. You can downgrade to 1.1.4 and upgrade and downgrade at your leisure. Being doing so for weeks.....

You just have to make sure you follow the instructions properly and use DFU mode not Restore mode....

ill be honest guys, i have no idea what Doerrsfan is talking about, i thought i did.

As for what I did. Awhile back i pwned my phone with 1.1.4. Today all i did was a restore with the file in my first post, it took about 15minutes and when it was done 2.0 was on my phone and everything was working fine. Of course my phone isnt jailbroken nor unlocked anymore.

I think Doerrsfan was telling everyone what he did to get 2.0 on his phone, beasically what i get out of it, is that you can update to 2.0 regardless of what state your phone was previously in

I am 1.1.4 jailbroken, not unlocked. Will I need to get rid of all my apps before I download 2.0? Or will it erase them when I update? I don't want the jailbreak anymore since all these apps are out.

jfmsam

those were the betas, the final is different.

According to BigBoss DFU mode brings you to error 1600 and restore gives you error 20. Also iTunes under 7.7 won't recognise iPhone as a Phone.

Do not upgrade yet.
