British Guy in need of help!

Hey guys, i currently have an unlocked 8gb iphone here in the uk, and have been using it no problem, I have a contract with t mobile (one that i am able to cancel with only 30 days notice). I have been connecting to my wifi connection at home, and have realised that i am being charged by T Mobile for this privelidge by the KB apparently!

Is anyone able to explain to me why? I though that my own wifi connection would be free - as it is on my laptop?

Any help would be much appreciated

Ceri

It should be free... you may want to download BossPrefs and make sure your Edge is off so it's not updating stocks and weather, etc... while you're off wifi..

It's strange. I gave them a call and she said that i had £4.50 worth of internet charges.

Is there any setting i can change on the handset, like the wifi settings or something to stop this from happening? I have never had an edge symbol on the phone since i got it!

there's no way that tmobile is charging you for using wifi. you may not have the icon with the e in it, but if you have the blue icon (empty inside) showing, you may be connected to gprs and using data that way and hence why you're getting charged. as Poseidon has suggested, download bossprefs and make sure your edge is turned off
