genesis4iphone, from Zodttd, is a Sega Genesis/SegaCD emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch. With this app you can play most of your favorite old Sega games from the early 90's. Most genesis roms run pretty well with no lag. Only the smaller SegaCD games, however, are usable. The more graphically intense SegaCD games are virtually unplayable. Overall, the sound is a pitched a little too high and it's better to have it switched off in the preferences. This will also give you a speed boost in terms of playability. Getting used to the touch screen controls is a little tricky and requires a little practice for those unused to Zod's other emulators. Once you get the hang of it, however, it becomes quite easy. Rom's can load a little slow but when compressed in .zip they load much faster. Overall an amazing app and another great emulator entry from Zod. Rom's are ...

Instant messaging, email, and telephone are on the forefront of human telecommunications, but let us remember the classic cave wall, upon which the Neanderthal could doodle messages for his friends or tell stories with pictures. The updated version of this classic forum is apparently the urban brick wall, upon which delinquents can spray-paint their messages for all to see. Sean Heber of iApp-a-Day combines the old with the new in his app called Graffiti. In the app, the user has the ability to post messages on a scrolling brick wall that anyone else using the app (who are connected to the internet) can see. To write on the wall, one must tap the screen to reveal a keyboard and option window. The user can also see the messages that other people have posted and write responses. Posts keep piling up until the oldest ones fade away. To keep the posts underneath ...

Are you a musician, specifically a guitarist? Then you are in luck, because Guitar Chords is just for you. This app has pretty much every chord that you could think of playing on a six string, standard tuning, guitar. But it gets better! Scales are also included in this app. But we're not talking simple one positions for each chord, there can be several different fingerings and fret positions available, which this app includes. As far as features go: There is a fretboard picture for about the top 45% of the screen, and then the rest of the screen has the setting for what letter, and then suffix (maj, m, dim, etc...). The scales page is not much different, just substituting the suffix with the style of scale. There is a 'preferences' page, which only consists of one setting at the moment, and that is for classic notation (toggle). However, for future ...

Introduction: Ever had a certain video or picture album you preferred wasn’t available to everyone who happened upon your iPhone?  Available to purchase for $9.99, HidePod promises to solve that problem for good.  In this review I will discuss what HidePod does well, and whether or not it’s worth the price tag. Features: Masquerade: This feature is an excellent one.  Masquerade mode allows the program to hide behind a calculator clone.  When this option is selected, HidePod overwrites your original calculator (don’t worry, it’s easy to recover) with its own version. To access HidePod, simply enter a pre-determined number combination (which can be customized later). You will then be taken into HidePod itself. Hide Video: Here you may select which media you would like to hide.  When hiding media you are shown all of your items in list format.  To hide files simply tap it once, then select “Move to hidden”.  Navigate to the hidden folder ...

iCopter is a basic, intensely fun and competitive game that will keep you and you friends hooked for hours. The point of the game is to keep your helicopter from crashing into an obstacle. Sounds simple right? Well it is. It's easy enough to pick up and play, but harder to get a high score that is higher than your friend's or even your own personal best. As your helicopter progressed forward, you touch the screen to go up, or let go to make the helicopter descend. Using these simple controls, you avoid the obstacles that are in put in front of you, while trying not to crash into the ground or sky. Yes, crashing in the sky is a possibility that makes the game that much more competitive. Screenshots:

I love simple, yet addicting, games. iCave is just that. This game is certainly not for the WoW or RO player. What's the object? Simple really- Guide your 'snake' through a cave without hitting the ceiling or floor, or the obstacles that are coming at you. Sounds easy right? Well this is where it gets addicting and difficult. The ceiling and floor progressively close in on you. Oh yeah, did I mention that you need to tap-and-hold on the screen to raise your 'snake' towards the ceiling, and release to let it fall towards the ground? Now we're in for an interestingly difficult experience. You'll find yourself saying, “One more time”- About 50,000 times! Graphics are about 8-bit, reminiscent of pre-Mario Bros., which adds a great retro feel to the game. Bugs are nonexistent, which makes for a fun time. All in all, this game is fun for when you have ...

iChinese: Help You To Learn Chinese On iPhone I should say I'm very impressed on this native iphone teaching app iChinese, after some playing around. Why? because it has an easy-to-use UI, a very practical and considerable customization setting and finally a really good and robust implementation. Now i wanna give you a close look step by step. 1.Installation Add the developer's site http://ichinese.de/repo to Installer's source, then find and install iChinese from the Learning category. The most recent version is v1.0.2. Now that the author has also submitted the app to ModMyI source, you can also install it without adding the source manually. So does Cydia. Only one thing: now it's v1.0.1, not v1.0.2. I suggest you add the author's site to your installer since that will get you the latest version. Launch iChinese and you will enter the main interface as below (picture from iChinese official site). 2.Preparation Before you start learning by clicking the button Learn ...

iDial is a novelty dialer, found on the SOSiPhone source. It features a rotary dialer that has access to the contacts, and it really does work. The exclusion of any sort of 'Favorites' or 'Visual Voicemail' really brings the app down, though. If those were included, this would surely be a hit. Personally, I like the app. It is very clean, and bug-free. It is also very fun to use this app to fool your friends/coworkers into believing that this is how the iPhone dials! iDimLight - a very useful app if you have something downloading in installer and therefore deactivated the autolock feature wich is big and want to check status from time to time on your display or if you do something that takes a while and just want to see how far its gone without draining the battery because of the full backlight. With this app you can determine a time (in seconds) to tell the phone how long the full backlight should be active when the Phone/Pod receives no action. After this you will have to restart your SpringBoard (the App asks you for that) to make it work. I Think its also a very useful program when you lookup something somewhere in the net or reading an email or stuff like that and you get unterbrochen by a friend who wants to talk to you, when you forget to push the powerbutton ...
