About a year ago, Apple released the Iphone; it was a big hit with the consumers but those who are fortunate to own one knew that the Iphone was lacking features in a few department. One being the picture taking ability, the camera function is what it is: just a camera. Then along came Snapture; it is a native “third party” application that allowed Iphone owners to have more camera options. Best of All this application is FREE!

Snapture gives the User the ability to dictate standard camera settings that the original “camera” application did not have. It gives the user the freedom to do more via a collapsible setting or settings icon will review the options for:

• Zoom in and Out: 1x to 3x zoom
• Have a timer setting with the option of: 2,5, 10, and 15 seconds
• Turn On/Off Quiet Mode
• Take Fast Multiple shots (3 to be exact)
• Enable Auto Rotation
• Have level aid for users with leveling problems…. j/k
• Option for Picture Resolution, so you can take advantage of the 2 mega-pixel Camera.
• Large: 1600×1200, Medium: 1280×960 and Small: 960×720
• Language support for those who don’t speak English. Language options include: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Polish.
• Also a notable feature is Tapping anywhere on the screen instead of the usual stock program option.

The programs definitely have many pros but there are some cons to this program. Like I said, it is a free application and like any new programs in its early stages, it does have its kinks. The kinks are very minimal though:

• When you take a picture, you must have a mildly steady hand because it can take blurry pictures because of the slow delay snapping of Snapture. Just a bit slower than Apple’s Camera App. (Atleast to me)
• Another minimal kink is while you are on the phone with someone via headset or Bluetooth and wants to snap a picture; the icons in Snapture can be cut off but it is nothing serious.

So if you are fed up with Apple’s Camera App, what more can you want? Snapture is a better camera application, has a Simple User Interface and is totally FREE! So support the Snapture team for their hard work, if you do end up using it.
