iphone download app...

hey is it possible to get an app on the iphone so that you can download files and save it into the phone and later when u want to access it just ssh into it or something...

i want to do this cuz i get fill 3g service everywhere in my area so i want to take 100% use of my data plan which is costing me a fortune.
