Firmware 1.1.4 | Ziphone ALL | T-Mobile TO-GO plan yet edge not working

This pay as you go plan is TO-GO, pay as you go, not a "true" plan I would say.

Now I have seen a plan for $40.00 for 350 minutes, do I also need to add T-Zones for $5.99 so that it works? So my total monthly cost is $46.00 per month?

Purchase the Total Internet Package.

Set APN to either internet2.voicestream.com or internet3.voicestream.com. If neither f those work, contact tmobile and ask them what your APN should be for you location. it differs on the east coast I found out.

The total internet package is $19.99, I want to pay the $5.99 package, I heard this works for people.

I currently don't have either plan, I just don't want to spend $60.00 where I could pay $46.00, you know?

I understand. This is simply the easiest way to go about it, and the most fool proof way as well. I use it, and it works wonderfully.

Okay, not given that I currently have my iphone docked, why can't it access the internet that my laptop is using via the usb cable?

I currently cannot connect to it, or don't know how to.

You cant acess the net from the usb port plugged in your laptop.

You would have to tether the service fromt he laptops wifi to get the net on the phone ..

To make sure I understand you, how can the iphone get an IP address without a wireless access point to connect both the iphone and laptop together??

I can't be accepting that the ONLY way the iphone can can connect to the internet is via WIFI or EDGE. There's got to be a direct connect function..

I'm posting this here for future newbies who are seeking how to get an iPhone unlocked and working on T-Mobile w/ T-Zones.

This is for the PC user, not Mac - sorry.

1. Call T-Mobile and enable T-Zones
2. Download ZiPhone from http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/t-m...ww.ZiPhone.org
3. Install ZiPhone to a local drive on your PC (a mapped network drive will fail)
4. Insert your SIM card into the iPhone
5. Open iTunes on your PC
6. Connect your iPhone to your PC
7. Turn OFF the "sync when initially connected" option in iTunes
8. Open ZiPhoneGUI
9. Choose "Do It All" (even if the phone's already been activated by an AT&T owner in the past)
10. On the iPhone, go to the "Installer"

12. Look for and choose 1.1.4 T-Zone Tweak

13. Install it, even though it may warn of an "untrusted" user
14. Eject iPhone from iTunes
15. Power Off iPhone
16. You should connect w/o issue after two hours of doing Step #1

the tzones hack just puts the same information into the vpn settings that you are doing yourself for the 19.99 plan

as a matter of fact the tzones hack also works for the 19.99 plan!

why you mite ask?

because they are both the same edge access!!!! no difference!

19.99 is setup to charge people that have a full internet phone!
5.99 is for people that have WAP phones!

our phone can use the hack to access the edge network no matter what plan you have!

download speeds are the same!!! tested myself!!

call tmobile and ask to speak to tier 2 internet tech support! they have a full file on the iphone and what it can do!
