version 1.0.2 (1C28)
used iUnlock
have tmobile
Hi, in terminal after typing in the password (dottie) i don't just get # but rather I get -sh-3.2# and then i basically cant do anything else because when I try to type anything like cd once I press the spacebar It says Connection to 10.0.1.195 closed. any tips on this?
Also, I should be doing all of this with my t-mobile sim installed right?

you get -sh-3.2# because you are using ssh from independence, use ssh from installer and you will be fine
PLease help me, anyone knows why we are getting the message "FW differences found" instead of " FW are equal" after runing the comman ./iUnlock ./ICE03.14.08_G.fls ./eliteloader.bin

Follow the 4 new guides successfully. Some tips.
First thanks a lot for the guides, great job. This method works flawlessly.
Secondly, I wanted to share my own success story and the solutions to some of the issues I found through the process
I had my phone unlocked twice, one with the first guide for mac os x on this site, but was not working very well, no youtube amongst other things. Then I decided to perform the unlock on a win machine with the PACAY method and anySIM 1.0.2. From that moment my phone was working perfectly. (have the right IMEI after the unlock)
So I took my chances to upgrade to 1.1.1 and follow these 4 new guides.
Part 1.
- During the virginizing process, the dump (./norz) command hanged in terminal, I just did a ^C and started again, it worked then without any issues.
- BTW Cyberduck does not work for me for whatever reason here, so I used Fugu and was able to perform all the required steps
Part 2.
- I did not get immediately the Pre 1.1.1 Upgrade button activated when I launched Independence. SO what I did, From Independence, I installed again SSH. After that no issues I continued with the guide.
- I did not get the Set Up your iPhone, don't know why (in Itunes I have a manual sync set up, so it nevers syncs unless I push the button). SO I did not start a new iphone setup. My iphone continues to be recognized so I went ahead and I click on update and everything went as expected.
Part 3.
no issues, independence worked flawlessly.
Part 4.
Same, unlock with no problems. after unlock I deleted anysim.
BTW: I took my SIM off, and I only put it back in before activation on Part 3. Also dottie did not work I used alpine as the root pw.
I restart the phone and install "AppTapp Installer" that came with the pack with Independence.
I then realized that my phone upgraded without erasing and I got a mixed set of apps from my 1.0.2 setup. when I clicked on installer, i still have all the old apps, but none of them were visible.
I uninstalled all of them but Installer, Summerboard 2.x, OpenSSH, I reinstall immediately BSD Subsystem.
I was not able to update installer or uninstall summerboard 2.x. This is what I did, I uninstall the sources on Apptapp, and restart the phone, refresh the sources and then success, I was able to reinstall Installer.
Finally I had to set again my VM number and my Service center number, the VM button did not work any more.
That's it, hope my own experience can help some of you.
End Result
iphone 1.1.1, unlocked, youtube, itunes store, Installer 3.x, SMS fully functional (except flash SMS).

I originally unlock with the easy unlock at Modmyiphone. Is this virginize for that that original unlock?
Also, I cannot unzip the file - I get an error.
Thanks,
Scott

I can't start this process because I'm unable to install the BSD Subsystem, and it appears a few others have this problem right now (two posts in the forums here today, and after a bit of trawling many others) - all other apps install fine, BSD says 'Package download failed' or 'can't find host'. Tried rebooting over and over, restored etc... but no luck.
Does anyone know a way to manually install the BSD Subsystem? (I'm not great at terminal etc... would appreciate precise instructions) or a solution?

I had the same problem, turns out its because there are two versions of SSH installed (its a bug in independence 1.25) , i read somewhere u have to uninstall @ least one. i uninstalled & reinstalled SSH a few times via indpendance & it eventually works.. also, when restarting iphone while installing SSH, it was suggested to switch off by sliding, not holding down home button. which seems to have worked, cause i now am running unlocked 1.1.1

mmm I haven't installed SSH yet though - not through independence. Was going to install open SSH after BSD. Am I missing something?
Tried installing/uninstalling about 5 times now - still can't install. Surely it must be a server problem with the package, I can install everything else from installer app it's just odd

I followed the steps in the guide and have a fully unlocked iPhone 1.1.1
- Sms works
- YouTube works
- Voicemail works
- All works
Thanks a million!
(Just follow the steps and its easier than the original "Easy Unlock OSX" posted here)
