It would be great if there were a way to disable the accelerometer so I can read long emails lying down. I send large .doc files to my email and read them while lounging around, the page always ends up in landscape; which sucks.
Just a thought. I would do it myself if I knew how.
Only tip I can give:
It won't turn if the top of the phone (headset side) is down.
So turn it to the side, then turn it again and it will stay vertical for your eyes.

yep, i do the same thing haha when surfing the web.
If I worked for apple... a good way to implement something like this would be that if you had your finger on the screen while you turned it, then the screen would not rotate

Same idea as stated above...I do the same...I turn the phone upside down when laying on my side...Now I don't feel all weird about it...Not that I did before...Okay...I'm gonna stop talking now...
