.lproj...are all of them neccessary?

this is probably a noob question but...

are all the .lproj folders required for an app to work?

i noticed that there are several .lproj folders inside the app folders and i was thinking, i'll never need the other languages except for English and is it safe to erase the other .lproj languages that i don't need.

only reason i'm asking because i have a 4GB iphone and space is very limited.

You can delete them. But if you want to be safe just move them to your PC and try using the Apps without the files.
These are just localized versions of some labels or other text in the app, so you can delete them.
But I think that will give you only a little bit more free space on your iPhone...
