microwave + iphone = solution?
Genuinely considering microwaving phone to exchange for new one because I am getting pissed off trying to fix/restore it. The phone keeps popping out of DFU mode when I'm trying to restore, and yes, winpwn logs have verified that the phone did enter dfu at first, but then it jumps to restore mode without me doing anything.
Before doing so though, I'd like to know if I will run into any problems if I show up without an AT&T sim card in my phone. I can't find the original AT&T sim card that came with the phone. Please advise, thank you.

As long as you have AT&T, because you are still in the 1 year warranty, if you throw it in the microwave and say you were restoring and your power went out, but you have an AT&T iPhone contract, they will exchange it no questions asked...

I'm still not understanding the initial problem. I read through your explanation several times. Does your phone fail to restore in iTunes? Does your phone fail to PWN? Is it stuck in restore mode?.....

DFU Restore Mode:
1. Boot phone 2. Hold Power + Home until the screen goes BLACK 3. Continue to hold home and let go of power 4. Plug into iTunes (screen should still be BLACK) 5. Within 20 seconds it should come up in recovery mode 6. Let go of Home and hit RESTORE in iTunes.
