How to downgrade a 2.0.1 iphone?
i was trying to download the app tapp thing, but it made my phone freeze, and messed up my iphone, so i had to restore my iphone, and so i had no choice, but to upgrade my phone to 2.0.1 on itunes. my version of the phone before was a 1.0.2. when i put my samsung simcard from my cellphone into the iphone now, it doesn't work because it is locked, and tells me to activate it. It worked before this whole mess started. Also, I have a 1st generation 8G iphone. My iphone only works now with the original simcard in it only, but with no phone. also, my gmail used to work, but now it does not.
Can someone please help me downgrade my iphone to a lower version so that when i put my samsung simcard in the iphone, the phone will work again? i have at&t.
Please, i really need help. If my dad finds out that i updated my iphone to a 2.0.1, then i am dead meat because he told me not to. I had no choice though b/c i had to restore my phone, and that was the only option. Someone please help me step by step.
some other things you should know also are that this iphone was given to me by my dad because he has the 3G iphone which has a contract on it, but mine doesn't because he canceled the phone service on it. It has internet on it because of wifi. this is my first time ever having a problem with the iphone, so i don't know anything much about iphones.
By the way, i was reading the other thread "PC & Mac Guide- Downgrade from 2.0 to 1.14" and was wondering would that work for me even though mine is 2.0.1?
