Error 2003 - iPhone Forums at ModMyiFone.com - iPhone

Soooooooo, a friend of mine was able to pick up a 1st gen iPhone from a family member who upgraded, for $100. I went through the process of installing iTunes 7.5 and downloaded the 1.1.4 restore file. When I went to restore, it starts, then stops, showing error (2003). I'm not a n00b when it comes to hacking phones, but I AM a n00b when it comes to the iPhone. To anyone: What's the dealy?

why do you have to restore the phone back to 1.1.4?
might as well update it with the latest fw.

If I try to restore normally, now, it says "Software for this iPhone is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and try again."

Am I REALLY the first person who's had this problem?

Oddly enough, once I ran ZiPhone, I was able to bring it back up to normal mode. ZiPhone also states that the unlock/jailbreak was successful. I guess I won't know until later...
