Cant acess gmail from my touch

Hi!

I purchased a Ipod Touch yesterday. (Had an iphone last year) and now im trying to get my gmail account working. But i get an error when trying to access the mail. I dont know what the english error-codes are as i live in sweden.

But its somethin like "The connection to the server "imap.gmail.com" failed.

What am i doing wrong?

i write my name as account-name.
My emailadress
Password

Under advanced the following settings are set.

Incomming

No SSL
Autentication password
Prefix for imap imap.gmail.com
serverport 698

Outgoing

No SSL
autentication password
server-port 587

When i had my Iphone (around christmas) the Imap-thing was all new.. i dont see were im supposed to click imap in the settings.

Please help me

In your Gmail account you need to switch the IMAP settings to on. It's like, POP3 or IMAP or something. Just log into your Gmail account on your computer and then hit the settings button and then switch IMAP on. It should work now.

I have already done that that was the first thing i did.. I have no options in the Touch to mark "imap-settings". do i have to have Http://

or does just imap.gmail.com work? I dont understand this.. On my Iphone it was just like a breeze to add an account.

imap server port for gmail should be 993

if it helps my gmail works and ssl is on for both incoming and outgoing
