ZiPhone - Unlock, Jailbreak, Activate, REPAIR your iPhone - NO DOWNGRADING REQUIRED!
Zibri has released ZiPhone - an incredible tool for activating, jailbreaking, repairing, and unlocking all versions of iPhones (unlock only works on 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 OTB).
Its incredibly easy to use, and both OS X and Windows versions are included in the download. Instructions from the readme:
Quote:
Connect a brand new phone to the dock.
Run the program
Well, you can also use a restored phone...
Or a normal in use phone...
Well... whatever !
|
Windows download the app from the MMi downloads section (this version is packaged with the .exe gui), or if you're not an MMi member you can download it here or from MediaFire. Windows users you can get a gui here Copy to Ziphone folder and run. requirements : .Net framework 2.0 or above
OS X download the app here, or if you're not an MMi member you can download it here.
If you would like to compile the latest version the SVN is located: http://iphone-elite.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ZiPhone/

I will have a better guide up soon in the Wiki, this is just a basic rewrite of a guide a user tossed up.
Mad props to Zibri and the elite dev team for their incredible work on this!

This tool also can repair a phone with a "dead" baseband. To quote Zibri's blog
Quote:
To REPAIR a *DEAD* baseband, do THIS:
Put the iphone in recovery mode (NOT DFU..normal recovery mode)
Then run: ziphone -u
And you will have back IMEI and WIFI.
This procedure already worked on 3 phones.

How can you tell what boot loader you have on your iPhone?

So now there's no reason for me not to go get the 16 GB iPhone....I guess this can jailbreak no matter what bootloader the phone has? I never could find a definite answer as to whether or not you could jailbreak the brand new phones coming out, but I guess this is it.

If you already have a jailbroken one with Installer, you can install HWInfo. It's the best System Info app I've seen for the iPhone.

What's Jailbreak?

So I have a question. I have the 3.9 bootloader. Could I restore my iPhone to 1.1.3 with an unaltered baseband, then use this method to jailbreak and activate, and then use anySIM 1.1.3 to unlock the phone, seeing how that is specifically for iphones with the 3.9 bootloader. Then the phone would be completely unlocked jailbroken, and activated. Just wondering if something like that would work.

currently trying it on my 16 gig buds!. will repost with results!
worked perfectly after i fixed my command prompt to run from c:\ not docs and settings so anyone who has a problem where command promt isnt opening do this:
FOR JAILBREAKING AND ACTIVATING:::::
run command prompt
type cd\
then drag the ziphone exe and put a space after and type -j and another space and -a. let it do the work and itll tell u when to put in recovery mode then its done after 45 sec.
and for UNLOCK
SAME CRAP BUT INSTEAD TYPE -u
