Buy iPhone in Germany without T-mobile plan?

Hi everybody,

I live in Belgium, but not too far from the German border.
I'm planning on buying an iPhone in Germany, but I wanted to know if anybody of you knew if I can do this without signing a contract?
because T-mobile is not operational in Belgium.
Is it always so that you have to immediately sign the contract when you go and buy the iPhone?

I hope you guys can help me.

You where able to buy it for 999 euro's yes that's right 600 more. But right now it is probably lower.

well, I don't mind paying 499€ for the 16gb version.
But 999€ is just too much.
Think there's an option on getting it for 499€?

Only signing a contract,but I suggest you waiting for 3G iPhone....
