i have a cingular sim ca i use in my jailbroken 1.1.4 iphone...i have an old cingular employee plan and the 20 dollar unlimited internet....so att doesnt know im using my iphone...i dont have visual voicemail...bla bla...anyway

will i need to change sim cards the new att sim card....i would think so right?

I think your current sim card will work fine. The 3g iphone upgrade is a hardware chip. Your sim card identifies your account. Of course AT&T could change things.

AT&T does know your using an iPhone. That number on the back of your phone called IMEI. The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15 or 17 digit code used to identify an individual mobile station to a GSM or UMTS network. The IMEI number facilitates an important function; it easily identifies a mobile phone being used on a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network.
