want to sell my current iPhone, imagine why...
Ok. So with the new iPhone 3g coming out I want to sell my first gen iphone. The reason I think I could get 200 or more is because I have the ability to unlock my phone. I currently am jailbroken on 114 via ziphone on AT&T. Since I would like to list my phone as unlocked, what would be the best way to go about this. I have a PC so pwnage seems to be out of the question. What would be the best way to unlock and sell my phone. Any help is appreciated. It would be great if someone could tell me from experience.

i dont think it is. he doesnt have to cancel his contract if he's on AT&T, just switch his plan to the new phone.

Incorrect. The 2-year contract is "Sold Separately" as stated on apple's website. You can buy the phone without the contract just like you can now.

DFU Restore Mode:
1. Boot phone 2. Hold Power + Home until the screen goes BLACK 3. Continue to hold home and let go of power 4. Plug into iTunes (screen should still be BLACK) 5. Within 20 seconds it should come up in recovery mode 6. Let go of Home and hit RESTORE in iTunes.

Source for this, or just an unfounded assumption?

I don't know...I'm looking at Ebay and for the most part, unlocked ones are selling high. I don't think everyone got the memo.
I may list mine tomorrow.

I just sold (yesterday) my 16GB, 1.1.4 unlocked iPhone on eBay for $460.00, so it can be done. I am in Canada though and Rogers really isnt saying much on the webpage other than "something big is coming on July 11", so maybe the buyer didnt hear the news yet. Oh well. I'm happy. I got the money and shipped it out. Just sucks being without an iPhone for a month.

WinPWN is good. But the safest is iLiberty.

I sold my phone on eBay last week, I had a quick question....
The phone is 1.1.4 and already unlocked via ZiPhone, how could I wipe all my current data on the phone before sending it to the buyer still unlocked?
I'm afraid that if I do a restore in iTunes since the phone is unlocked it will crap out, basically what I would like to do is restore the phone to the original factory settings then jailbrake, activate, & unlock it.
If any of these options can be done without having to unlock the phone again please let me know. I'm not sure how all of this restore/reactivate/unlock stuff technically works, I just pushed the "Jailbrake & unlock" button on ZiPhone

I believe if you go settings>general>reset>erase all content and settings, that should do the trick, correct me if I am wrong.

I ended up taking taking taking out my SIM card and placing the phone into DFU mode and restoring the 1.1.4 firmware, then I simply used iLiberty to jailbrake & activate. Worked like a champ I'll be shipping the phone later today.
