My fans were running at 6500 RPM and my core temp was over 180 while just idling with nothing running or open.

Once I deleted my dev folder it went back down to 140 degrees and the fans cut off.

Oh well, until I get a computer dedicated to the SDK I am not going to have my book strained for no unknown reason.

Hopefully within a week I'll have a dedicated tower.

What resources was the program using (RAM, CPU, etc.)?

I didn't get a print out of what was going on before I deleted the dev folder. This was both before and after a clean reboot while at idle with nothing (obvious) running or open. activity monitor didn't show anything obvious at a glance.

It acted like it had a memory leak or something. There was nothing opened after the reboot program wise. Temps shot up and fans kicked on wide open. Once the dev folder was cleared from the trash it all settled down to dead sea calmness. no fans, cold cpu's.

From my brief experience XCode 3.1 is extremely unstable...I managed to crash it twice in a little over an hour without much difficulty.
