I didn't get a print out of what was going on before I deleted the dev folder. This was both before and after a clean reboot while at idle with nothing (obvious) running or open. activity monitor didn't show anything obvious at a glance.
It acted like it had a memory leak or something. There was nothing opened after the reboot program wise. Temps shot up and fans kicked on wide open. Once the dev folder was cleared from the trash it all settled down to dead sea calmness. no fans, cold cpu's.
