go to freecall.com make an account. then use sip.voiparound.com as a server and use your login and password from freecall.com account. I tested siphon on my iphone recntly but unfortunately no joy. I can call that's fine. I can hear people - that ok either. The problem is that people can't hear me. And it dosn't matter if I call as usual or when I am using my headphones with mic on it. I beleive there is a need of external mic... I think so... If anybody knows please help me. I am using iphone 1.1.4

Didn't try but the devs said it should work with the headphone mic or external mic only, not with the iPhone's built-in mic. Try plugging in the headphones before launching the app.

you are absolutely RIGHT thanks a lot..
have to confirm then.. that to use siphon on iphone using headphones you have to plug them before launching... not while using siphon.. and not after using ;P

You're welcome. Is there anything that makes siphon better than fring for voip?

Honestly speaking I have never tested fring. Whatever I can say is that untill now I have no issues regarding siphon so I will continue using it.

--------

OK. I have tested fring right now that's what i've noticed.
- delay is longer using sip on FRING, shorter on SIPHON
- FRING is not letting your current iphone contacts what SIPHON is doing

what is better while using FRING ?
- FRING is letting you call without headphones
- you can call not only landlines or mobiles but also msn contacts and skype buddies

1) use fring
2) use sipgate
3) find which one works best for you (both wayyyy better than siphone, but fring crashes for me)
4) ???
5) Profit!
