Hey E-Dragon I got a question for ya. When u make the songs into ringtones, what level is the volume at? Like what I mean is do u play around with the settings to enhance the song/volume and etc. because when I put them on my iPhone they sound bad, static, quiet, lol There really good though but is there some way to make them sound clearer?
Thanks again!

Nope they are at the same volume as recorded.. I will sometimes lower them a bit if I see the wave length almost maxed out across the board...
Here’s the problem most rap and heavy bass music is over saturated (recorded to loud) in most normal cases you can get away with this simply because the listener is pumping it thru a set of speakers that will separate it ( Bass, Mid, Treble ) The iPhone has just two very tiny speakers not much bigger than some earbud’s and they are expected to be loud enough for you to hear them 5' away..

Are you mostly talking about Soldier Boy? I'll lower it down a bit...

Try THIS

This should be asked in the general media section....

The rintones must be imported into iTunes and the only way to get them on your phone thru iTunes is to sync them in the ringtones tab that iTunes links with the rintones section...

Hey DirtyDan the brief tutorial was real helpful!

I just got one question, i reach the point where you have to rename the file, but when i rename it - its still an m4a file type (I'm only allowed to rename the 'name' or 'title' not the file type). So once i rename it, it is still and m4a and does not import into the ringtones section of itunes

Is there something i'm missing? I'm using windows btw

any help will be appreciated!

Yes it is, When you first rename it the whole thing is highlighted, just use the right arrow key, then the left, then the delete key and type in a small " r " and hit enter.. It should say: Warning changing the file extention may make blah blah blah... Click yes... If you already have a rintone file in iTunes or have already associated m4r with ringtones, the icon will change too...

You are selecting and editing the file thru windows and NOT tru iTunes, right?

F@#$
this still isnt working, i highlight it and click <rename> and it only changes the name not the entire name + extension

ok here's what i did:
-imported the file to itunes music section
-converted mp3/wav file to AAC, then deleted the original file from itunes
-right click the aac file <show in internet explorer>
-(new window opens) right click the m4a file and choose <rename>
*it only remames the file name/title, NOT the extension

i dont get it

frig Apple and their damn monopoly on everything iphone!

EDIT: figured it out..had to modify a setting in teh folder options for windows
