This Guide works with the newest 2.0 beta 3 firmware as long as you are using PwnageTool 1.1
PwnageTool has the capability of pwning the latest Apple 2.0 beta file released to accepted developers. If you happen to have this file you can pwn it too. Please do not ask for or distribute this firmware in our forums. We do not allow warez. Google is the place to go for your warez search. The filename is iPhone1,1_2.0_5A225c_Restore.ipsw. If you have an iPod Touch you need the iPod Touch Beta 2.0 .ipsw.
" Why upgrade to 2.0 beta? " For developers this allows you to connect your iPhone to the SDK via xcode to load and test the apps that you code. Some people will be interested in a few of the updates available in the 2.0 beta firmware including a useful calculator and Microsoft Exchange Support. You also can't forget many people will upgrade because they can.
You can only follow this guide if you have a Pwnd iPhone / iPod Touch and have loaded a custom 1.1.4 firmware that was unlocked, bootneutered, and activated. If you need to Pwn your iPhone / iPod Touch and load a custom 1.1.4.ipsw follow our easy PwnageTool Usage Guide. You need to have the 2.0 beta firmware file downloaded and on your computer. You also need a copy of PwnageTool.
The phone used in this guide has a custom 1.1.4 firmware loaded that is unlocked, activated, bootneutered, and has custom images. iTunes is closed and the iTuneshelper process had been quite via activity monitor. The iPhone is plugged in and in restore mode. Remember you get to restore mode by holding the sleep and home buttons until you see the pineapple. When you see the pineapple you release the sleep button and continue holding the home button until you see the the Steve Jobs cartoon.
Alright good to go? Lets get started. Open up PwnageTool
Select Browse .ipsw
Browse to the 2.0 Beta file on your computer, select it and click Open
The PwnageTool Console will indicate that the file is loaded.
Select IPSW Builder.
A prompt will pop up. Leave the two check items checked and select OK.
Name your custom 2.0 beta file and select Save
Once PwnageTool has finished completing your custom 2.0 beta file you will see the following text in the console:
Lets quit out of PwnageTool. You have successfully created a custom 2.0 beta .ipsw file.
