ATT giving out free 3G iPhones

So you just have to renew your current contract to get the new iphone? You don't have to activate a new line of service, is that right??

I have a question. I bought my iPhone 5/8/08 im wondering to I qualify to get the new 3G phone if I add a 2 year contract is that what this is saying ?

Nope, just renew and drop $199/299 and you're set. (your plan will increase by $10 due to the more expensive 3G data plan)

i bought my iphone in september so i would have to pay the 199/299 or is there a way around it as pospower did or did he do somtin else.

So people that bought there iPhones before May 27th can still swap out for the new one for free, you just have to sign a new contract?

Am I the only one here that doesn't think 3G is worth the extra 10 bucks a month ? No tethering, just faster browsing ? IS edge that slow for everyone that 3G seems worth 10 bucks more a month. : \ ... just sayin.

Wow. So there is no way a T-Mobile user could get a 3G iphone huh? I think that is seriously gonna hinder Apple/ATnT's sales seeing as how there are so many people in other countries using unlocked iPhones.

what about the "No More Online iPhone sales" thread under this one? There are a bunch of posts on that thread from people saying that they called an Apple store and they told them they will be able to buy one and just "not activate it" in the store?

It's all Bull - anyone can purchase the phone from an apple store when its released.
